Test E 300mg vs 500mg on first cycle........

Im trying to fine tune what will be my first cycle. Im stuck deciding on how many mg's to use. I'm weighing the "safer" 300mg amount vs what I assume would be the "more results" 500mg amount.

My questions are, can I still get good results with 300mg assuming diet and workout is good to go? or.....Would it be considered a little bit of a waste to not run 500mg?

I'm going to be running 50mg ed of Proviron with it if that changes your opinion. Thanks for your advice.
 
How old are you. How long have you been training. Run your stats.

Personally I would do 300 a week. I'd stick to 500. Why add proviron?
 
I agree with Bobcat I think?????? IF he meant 500 a week instead of 300 :)
 
Running 300 is barely over your natural amount, that would be a complete waste of time and you'd shut yourself down for no reason. Run 600
 
Im 44, 6'6" 240lbs. Been working out on and off my whole life. Started training hard and eating clean about 6 months ago and will be starting this cycle March 6th. (Traveling before that makes it too hard)

Im running the Proviron just because I have it really. Do you think I should just run straight test @ 500mg?

Im 44... 6'6" 240lbs...been working out on and off for 20 years. Just started training hard and eating clean 6 months ago. Will be running this cycle in 6-7 weeks. Im using the Proviron because I already have it really.
 
My first cycle 20 years ago was 250mg/wk of Testoviron Depot (Test E) for 10 weeks. I gained 25lbs. I feel that 300mg/wk of test plus the proviron would be a very good first cycle.
 
Not to try and talk you out of your desire to run a cycle but I would wait another 6 months. How long was it before you started working out again before going hard the last 6 months.

Increase in strength quickly can cause an enormous amount is stress in your joints especially if they arent accustom to working out. Just be careful.

I appreciate it. I wanted to be able to run 2 - 10 wk cycles this year (in my head at least)...one March/April and another end of the year. But I'm thinking more about running just 1 this year and my 2nd next year same time (assuming everything goes well with the 1st). If I do that, I probably won't run this one until May or June anyway.

Go with 500 bro. Some may say you're a little too green in the training world to run gear but honestly at your age I dont see it as that big of a deal.
 
I would get some blood work done to see exactly where ur natural level is at... Don't be surprized if its low... Then, you will be better informed... I would agree with the 500 run, but be careful, feeling 25 again is addict ing !!!
 
500 is better choice for you. the effect is not that apparent if taking 300.
 
Im in my 50's and I would recommend a run of 500 mgs. Zionoir is right-it can be addicting to feel younger again!
 
A guy in his 40s, when testosterone is already declining, may feel drastic effects of 300 mg a week. Most of the people posting have been cycling for some time. Of course they are not going to feel the effects of 300 mg a week. That is a cruise dose for some here.

Only one person posting tried such a low dose on his first cycle, and that is TouaregV8. He posted on page one, post #6. See what he had to say about the results, since he is the only one with actual experience. In addition, I would say that since you are 44 the results may be more pronounced than they were for TouaregV8, who was much younger at the time. The reason I say this is that with age testosterone declines, so 300 mg weekly may be many multiples of what your testicles produce naturally right now. If you are low testosterone, the effects will be dramatic.

I would give the 300 a shot (no pun intended). If 6 weeks in you are unhappy, there is nothing to say you cannot increase the dose to 500.

Sorry I missed your post. OP, the only two people in the thread to have tried low dose on the first cycle had great results.

By-the-way, do you own any pants???
I wouldn't ever wear pants if my quads looked like TouaregV8's. I would just walk around town in my briefs.

I ran 500 a week on MY first cycle. I had been training for decades. BAM! Injury. I still wonder if I would have escaped injury had my strength gains been less dramatic. No way to go back and redo it now.

OP, please keep in mind your age. 44 year old tendons and joints do not adjust to massive increases in resistance as quickly as 24 year old tendons and joints. Just FYI.
 
All very good points. I think starting at 300mg and working my way up if needed, is a much better game plan than starting at 500mg in what is basically unknown territory for me. I think I'll run 300mg for the first 6 weeks and if I'm happy then I'll just finish it. If not, then I'll run another 6 weeks at 500mg and see what happens. Plus.....even if I run a full cycle on 300mg and dont end up with 25lbs of muscle at the end....its not like I cant run a 500mg cycle down the road after I get more experience and time in the gym. I'm trying to be cautious but just didnt want to waste the test by doing 300mg. It sounds like 300mg wont be a waste. Might not net me the same results, but I will get some decent results nonetheless. I appreciate all the input and personal advice.

This guy is 6'6" 240lbs and 44 years old though. I too made good gains off 300mg/week when I was in my early twenties, however I wish I would have just ran 500-600 the whole cycle and potentially put on 10 more pounds..
