I believe that most of us have a drawer or cabinet in our house with all kind of random shit like this. If someone were to start a brand new junk drawer, what kind of stuff do you suggest that they have in it?

I'll go first...

They'll need to have 14 different ink pens and broken pencils but only one of them works. Never throw the others away. You'll need to go through the other 13 each time, and throw them back before you find the one that works.

You have to have about 4-5 things that prevent it from opening each time. However, they must be things that you can cram down to get it to close back so that it hangs up the next time you open it

Yes but the rubber bands need to be old and brittle so they break when you try to use it. Dont throw them away when they break though, put them back in the drawer

Leftovers from miscellaneous minor projects/repairs like pipe dope, a roll of Teflon, various screws, bolts and clips that were left AFTER you got through and never figured out where the were supposed to go. And remotes from yesteryear that you have no idea what they went to. That pack of triple A batteries you never could find that pissed you off. Well, now you know because they leeched out of the pack and.made a mess. On and on and on.

Broken scissors. When the hinge fails and they fall apart you now have 2 separate arms you can open packages with. You won't actually use them for that, but they're there.
