Went to order a panel today and saw this…
Bummer, they had really good prices.

Dam, was gonna give them a go in a couple weeks. Their pricing was really good. Only place I’ve ever seen cheaper than hellogoodlabs.

Tried to order labs today from them and got the message “new orders are on hold for a few days”. Now it makes sense. Damn.

By the way that reads, it almost seems as if they expected this eventually and knew their prices were unsustainable with the ultimate goal of driving other companies down to be competitive.

Yah exactly like this was an experiment to see if it would wake up the “big boys”….. a shot across the bow!

I used Goodlabs, also very prices.

Not sure if code still works but its 20%.

Yah goodlabs is a solid choice. DCL would beat their prices even with the 20%.
As FearsomeCOR mentioned, I think this was probably a planned move to shake things up.

My understanding is alot of these sites are using Junction on the backend, so it’s the UI and their end user pricing that separates them.

Is that similar to the Anabolic Insights? You just pay them and you go get your blood work and they give results?

I saw a post on a Reddit thread about it that seemed like it was most likely the explanation for what happened. They probably got a great deal on pricing that was only supposed to be offered regionally, it came time for their pricing deal/contract to be renewed and prices were either jacked up or they weren’t allowed to renew at all.

Big insurance companies have deals with Labcorp and Quest for how much they pay for tests. It’s likely that these big insurance companies pay more than what dirt cheap labs was paying. Insurance companies see this and start pushing back as to why they’re paying more when they drive far more business to the labs. This also explains why buying tests directly from quest and lab corp is more expensive than the rates places like dirt cheap labs and goodlabs can offer. Quest and lab corp have to have those direct prices higher than the rates they charge insurance companies
