I have a Zojirushi and it's been working well for a year or so, it was spendy, but we love it. Past 6mos I've been making homemade dog food and it contains rice, we buy no less than 5lbs at a time and burn through it pretty quick. Well the rice cooker couldn't keep up so we went back to the stove top. I have to say that my stock pot runs circles around the appliance. I can easily cook 8 cups of rice in about the same time as the cooker makes 3.

Had the pot for 20 years LOL.

Any suggestions for a quality rice maker?

I have this Kitchen Aid which is awesome but it's about $300. Takes all the guess work out of it though and cooks all kinds of rice, grains, legumes.
