Reusing Subq pins?

I think I came up with a way to settle this for you.

So, wiping the outside of the pin with alcohol makes it ok in your mind.

What if someone offered you their used condoms, but no worries - the outside has been cleaned with alcohol. You taking them?

Technically bleaching a needle does sterilize it, but it doesn't kill hep c. If it's your own needle, you don't have to worry.

There's a picture somewhere on the Internet with a before and after picture of a syringe.

After it goes into your skin, it becomes barbed, hooks form and you lose the lube that is on a medical grade syringe.

You can put your thumb on the beveled side and slide it down a mirror to get rid of the fish hook and it makes it easier to pin.

But for $10-30 you should probably avoid reusing syringes.

He never mentioned bleaching, he clearly stated "wipe it with an alcohol wipe"

Wrong, have you ever heard of putrefied blood? It’s poisonous to you you even if it’s your own blood. It’s highly toxic and very dangerous

PSA: DO NOT re-use needles ever, in fact you’re we wise to use a new needle to draw with and a new needle to inject with

Putrefied blood 🩸 It doesn’t have to be visible to be toxic, it can be dried up an invisible to naked eye


There’s a story about it on this board wheee or really screwed a guy up

Does bleach not remove the putrefied blood? Serious question. Not advocating reusing syringes

Probably not with certainty, it could and it couldn't.

Once a syringe has poked anything, whether it is a stopper or skin - it goes in the trash in my opinion :)

Google putrefied blood there’s much more information than I cared to share

it’s super toxic and depending on any type of Clorox or other brand of bleach to clean a syringe is not even worth knowing, what if it does 99%of the time? It’s that 1% bro

True, using a brand new syringe out the box and wiping with alcohol I somehow suffered sepsis. Even took a shower after. Ended up in the hospital for 7 days.

Pretty sure it was from the bad primo but regardless, could have killed me.
 
Here I can’t stand the pain from the needle getting a hook in it after piercing two peptide vials.
Don’t worry though, you can always sharpen those used syringes on a match pack.

LMFAO THIS IS ACTUALLY TRUE you have to tap those motherfuckers so hard just to go in though. Or roll it between two nickels to remove the burrs

Normally when I re use my subq pins, I make sure I sharpen them on the grinder at work first, THEN use the alcohol swab. I only do this for subq though, never IM.
