This should be common sense, but I had a horrible experience this weekend. Went to my local YMCA to train on Saturday morning around 930AM, as I usually do- hardcore gym during the week, family gym session on Saturday. Threw on a stringer and a hoodie and headed out.
After a few sets to get warm, I took off the hoodie and started my work. Lots of chest supported and machine work. Finished my training by 11AM.

By about 1PM I had an itchy rash everywhere that my skin was exposed. Threw some OTC anti-itch cream on it and went about my day. By 3PM, it was worsening, so, I put some prescription Ketocanozole shampoo on it and then showered.
At 5PM it had started spreading down my back and across the top of my stomach. Really itchy to the point it was almost painful. Stayed like this for rest of day. I had a horrible night as I couldn't get comfortable.

Wake up yesterday, and my entire upper body is covered- its crept up my throat onto my chin, and it's getting itchier and angrier looking. Dialed up a virtual doc consultation and they prescribed an anti-fungal/steroid cream. Picked that up and it gave a bit of relief from the itching for about an hour. By this point, its now spreading down my torso to my waist. Keep putting the cream on. By 5PM its unbearable- I know I won't be able to sleep, and my skin feels like its on fire. It has also got between my balls and leg- thankfully not the taint- just on the sides.

At 7PM I headed to our walk-in ER, which is fantastic (shoutout Tampa General!) I was the only one there. I had also developed a fever, so there was a whole Measles scare protocol. Thankfully, it wasn't that it was just some dirty fucking yeasty/fungusy shit from the YMCA. They blasted me with an IM steroid injection and that stopped the itching within 20 min. Also, by the time I left at 9PM, the rash had started to diminish quickly. Was so worn out from the pain and not sleeping prior night, that I crashed hard and slept pretty well.

This morning, wake up and its fucking gone!

Don't rely on other to wipe the shit down, there are some nasty ass fucks out there!

Just a very uncomfortable reminder to wipe the stuff again, prior to using it.
Hope you bros had a better Sunday than me:ROFLMAO:

Damnit. That's wild. Glad they got it figured out.

Two Lessons in this story though.
1. Wipe down the machines
2. Don't workout in stringers. Especially at the YMCA 🤣

I also go to the Y and always wipe it down first. I've seen too much greasy grease oil slicks and slimy snail trails all over the benches.
My grandchildren will one day ask me to explain what "Gym Etiquette" used to mean when it becomes extinct. I'd say that it's on the
endangered species list already.

For sure...the Y is mostly old people, and you see them wiping everything down. My bad for not doing a secondary wipe!
I was feeling froggy- woke up and coach started my reverse LOL. Those extra carbs were gonna give me a SICK PUMP :ROFLMAO:

Yeah man, you gotta wipe that old people powdered skin dust off first. 🤣
