Good am guys.

How many of you are prepared for a terrorist attack, natural disaster, etc?

Can you survive without power for weeks on end?

Food stored?

Medicines?

Water?

Weapons and ammunition?

It’s only a matter of time….In my opinion.

Who is prepared?

L

Where you at men?
Working? :)

I have a vacation home in the Poconos with property on a large lake with well water. House is stocked with basic food essentials such bags of rice, beans, pasta, tons of whey, peanut butter, anti-biotics, weaponry, toiletries, alcohol, small home gym, etc. Not a crazy prepper, but if shit really goes down, we're all f'd after a while but I would be able to sustain for a good amount of time.

I have 2 4500 watt gennys, 3 months of unperishables, a well, and stockpile of medical supplies and antibiotics...I wont say anything about armaments but when I run out of supplies, ill just go get more 😉

I was born and raised in South Florida, disaster prep is something you just kinda grow up with here. I've been through more major hurricanes and significant floods than I can even count. People tend to focus on the "cool" aspects of prepping: the guns, the gear, the giant loot piles of MREs. And that's all well and good, you need food, you need water, you need to be able to protect yourself and your family from looters and the like, and generator power is a nice comfort for some and a medical necessity for others, lord knows I certainly have one. But the larger truth is that what really gets you through after a disaster is community. Neighbors helping neighbors. Have a community network that you can rely on and also help support. That can be through your Church, another community organization, or just an informal understanding with your neighbors. Never underestimate the mental benefits of knowing you're not alone after a disaster. And at a certain point, after you and your family are taken care of, all that's left to do is help others. The real heroes after a disaster are guys like the Cajun Navy, going around rescuing people and getting them to safety and getting them to aid networks that can help them. Don't be a lone wolf, and don't think you can just go around robbing people at gunpoint for supplies, because sooner or later chances are rule of law comes back and you're gonna have to answer for everything you did. At the very least you're gonna have to answer for it morally to your creator, or whatever your moral compass is.

I agree with most of what you said. But if you think playing boyscout and following your moral compass is gonna keep you alive then youre not gonna make it past week 1. Im not referring to temporary disasters im referring only to fall of the civilized world scenarios. Theres a large gap between the 2 and how I approach them will differ drastically. "Community" is wonderful when the population knows that there is light at the end of the tunnel. Its the absolute last thing you want to be around in an end of the world scenario. Even in a preplanned disaster prepping community the eventual result will be cliques and shortly thereafter power struggles. "Going around robbing ppl at gunpoint" is something you better make yourself damn comfortable with if you plan on putting food and water in your loved ones stomachs. Its not about being a badass or being weak, being evil or good. It's survival. Your "morals" will be the first thing that get you killed. I can say with full confidence that I know what id be willing to do for my family, group, or loved ones...and thats literally anything.

Just got off work, bout to cut grass.
If its my destiny to die from terrorism then so be it,i dont fool with guns.legal.
But i sure know how to use them.

Now natural disasters thats what im well experienced in.i survived many hurricanes in my life and a tornado that some here may remember.

Couldn't agree more. Men will do whatever is necessary to protect and provide for their family and loved ones. ANYTHING.

Yeah but like, pretty much every disaster is temporary. I get what you're saying and I don't disagree, I own more than enough guns and I train as much as any civilian who's not a pro competitive shooter. I'm just telling you as someone who's been through more disasters than I care to count, that's pretty much never the reality of the situation. 30k rounds of 9mm or 223 ball ammo would be better spent on a better generator with more fuel. If you think you're gonna lone-wolf it with a giant stockpile of guns and ammo you're just gonna turn yourself into a giant loot stash for an actual organized paramilitary group. And again, the vast majority of disasters around the world, especially in industrialized nations, are temporary. So statistically speaking that's what you want to prepare for based on the specifics of your geographical and geopolitical situation and your particular risk matrices. Again, it's great to be prepared for the absolute worst case scenario, but it shouldn't be where most of your disaster preparedness funds and energy go, not by a long shot. It's kinda like carrying a gun but not carrying a tourniquet. You're way more likely to save the life of a loved one or random stranger with a tourniquet than a gun. If someone side swipes you on the highway and your wife's leg gets ripped open, you can't shoot her leg back together and no matter how mad you are at the other driver your gun is not going to make a single thing about that situation better. But you have a pretty decent chance of saving her life with a tourniquet. It's just about resource management and priorities, like how a small fraction of our military is actual infantry.

I never mentioned stockpiling guns or ammo. I clearly stated what I had as far as preparedness materials. You only need 1 primary weapon, a secondary weapon and ammunition you can carry for both
..more is always better but like you said you make yourself a target the more you have. I fully agree with everything you said in regards to temporary disasters. And of course thats the more likely scenario, but we edge ever closer everyday to something worse.

That's totally fair. But the thing I think we edge closer to every day, from my perspective, isn't a complete collapse of civilization, at least not in some Mad Max fashion. I subscribe more to the "boring dystopia" theory, where everything just continues to get shittier as we slip towards a system of techno-feudalism powered by mass surveillance and AI, where very few people own everything and everyone else owns essentially nothing, and to say it's not already on its way is foolish. The post-War industrialized world has been something of an anomaly in human history, and I fear a regression to the mean more than anything else.

Preppers are hilarious.

But at the same time, thanks. If the world ever does actually end, I’m just gonna come kill you and take your shit.

After what I saw during a weak virus with a ridiculously low mortality rate somewhere between .5 to 1% If we were hit with something like bubonic plague at 30-60% levels, somewhere in between or even worse like an airborne Ebola, there would be serious potential for collapse. Besides $150 trillion in unfunded liabilities is unsustainable and when it reaches a certain failure/inflation level who knows what that will do. That level of burst has never been seen in history.

Being a prepper in the form of thinking you will last a long time and going nutty is unrealistic but to be prepared enough to last as long as you can is certainly a good idea. :)

Theres no room for argument there. 100% the direction were headed at breakneck speed. Theres no stopping it either. As that WEF pompous gross psychopath Klause Schwab said "you'll own nothing and be happy" fuck him and fuck them.

I have a 7500W tri fuel generator and a 3500W battery for silent operation at nights. As long as I have natural gas i can power my entire house. Switching to propane or gasoline creates a fuel storage issue. I also keep 2 months of food water and supplies.

I had a 5 day power outage a few years ago and my power set up worked flawlessly. I left all the outside lights on to flex on my neighbors that I'm prepared.

Glad we get your blessing 😊

I was feeling like you were going to shit this whole prepping thing down for a second there

There is a way to stop it, we would just need to stop fighting each other over culture war issues and realize the real fight is between people who work for a living (us) and the very, very few people who are on their way to owning literally everything (them).

There will always be conflict within culture whether it's race, transgender whatever. It's in our genetics.

Also, there is a very blurry distinction between "the people who work for a living" and the people who own everything. Safe to say Jeff Bazos has worked harder than most people for almost a decade of Amazon and businesses he had prior failing over and over taking losses while people told him he was insane for his vision. How about Elon Musk? Guy works his nuts off as per almost every report for decades. Yes, there are plenty of trust fund babies and f them, no argument there but there are more who worked their asses of to be whatever level rich you think is excessive.

The problem isn't the individual billionaire. It's the government that is influenced, bought and paid for creating restrictions/laws crippling competition. More lobbyists in DC than you can imagine.

I’ll tell you first hand from being around the world and witnessing many things…the most vicious animal ever created is a human being.

Billionaires get most of the rap, some deservedly so, but the real problem is the senators and congressman. Our government is the problem. If they werent such greedy narcissists then the billionaires lobbying and money wouldnt matter. Its government and corporate greed.

18k gallon cistern & deep freeze full of deer.
Live very rural game everywhere, no neighbors for 0.5mile.
If its Kill or b killed, i am a Killer.
I dont consider myself a prepper,
Just prepared.

I like it. Wet wipes are a must too. You have to be able to clean yourself.

We have generator's, generator welder with 110v & 240v, backhoe (gotta dispose of the unprepared bodies that foolishly think they are gonna make u a victim.
Gatta stack them at the front of the property. It’s a good deterrent lol the only ones coming close to u at that point will be real threats

Hmmmm...wouldnt that provide cover for an encroaching enemy? Hanging them in the trees would be be a more strategic option lol
