Not surprising at all, really. Not unlike steroids or other meds really. Imagine keeping 1/3 of your gains after going completely natty (no TRT). Wouldn’t be a surprise and might even be considered a decent outcome.
Or like statin or BP meds - there’s no expectation that a year of telmisartan will keep your BP down forever.
So, some people will use it as a stepping stone to better habits (drop the weight and be able to exercise again, eat right, etc.), some will stay on it for lifelong therapy for the weight/metabolic/cardiovascular effects, and some will come off and get fat and stay unhealthy.
Like most things, it’s a choose your own adventure book, and people get out what they put in. Just a tool in the box…
