Hello, I'm new to the board, getting older and need to get to a better level of conditioning. I live off grid in the mountains and want to continue to be able to live this lifestyle. Just turned 59, still have decent strength, but can't seem to do the physical things as easily as I used to 3 or 4 years ago. I'm looking forward to advice and opinions, so far what I've read has been all positive.

Thanks

CS

Welcome to asf , read rules and do the leg work (reading ) then post up and ask questions . There's no stupid question only one that's stupid is the one not asked

At that Age...
I recommend before Anything..
Bloodwork.. full spectrum..
See exactly what condition you are In..
PED's raise Markers..all of them Do..
How's your Natural Test Level..??
It's a totally different Game above .50.

Welcome to ASF! You're in the right place to learn. You could very easily be a candidate for TRT. I would highly suggest blood work be the very first thing you do like Z mentioned. Get all your health markers checked and get your testosterone level checked to see if it's low or not.

Thanks Z, yes, I have had blood work and physical done about a month ago. I had a stress test in November. All markers are in normal range, T is at 503. Doc said it was too high for a prescription. LDL was 2 points above the normal level which I can correct by knocking off some of the steak and moving more to chicken. BP is 120's over mid 80's. I started looking at the forums for advice and knowledge before going for the blood work and finally decided to join. I've been working out for years, have had a few breaks but overall in very good health.

Welcome Great to see you got the bloodwork done Z man really said what needed to be said their is a wealth of knowledge here . Just research some things you might be interested in a fire off some questions

At nearly 60... I'd recommend some serious researching on HGH..
BUT
Be damn sure you have nothing growing in you..like tumors or Such..
HGH will grow that Too..
That's damn good for a natural level..
BUT
Gear may End that.. Just beware of That..then it's TRT till the End..

thanks for the advice. I that at this point I know once I start, I may need to stay on it. It's something I've thought about for quite a while and am fine with. I will look into the HGH - I didn't think of that. I'm clear of the tumors and things associated unless that balloon over Montana...

Thank you for the care and advice you're giving me, I do appreciate it!

Thanks and Yes Sir! 20 solar panels, back up gen set and a Tesla Starlink system! We went from 700kbs with a Verizon cell hot spot to 150 Mbs!
With the portability option, it allows you to work from anywhere.

Welcome! I’m curious about your training and living off the grid. Are you going to a gym or training at home?
training at home - body weight, dumbbell, barbell, ski erg, rower, bike. Abs, chest and arms on M-W-F. Shoulders, back, legs T-Th-S. I've been doing 4 sets of 12 -15 reps (old school?). Will be switching to heavier weight and lower reps in another 4 to 6 weeks to change things up.
High altitude - 6400 feet, hiking, snowshoeing, light running.

off grid...where do you want to start? that is a huge topic! We did everything from clearing and excavating to installing the solar panels. Wood stoves for heat, 20 solar panels for power. Gen set gets used 4 to 6 hours a day between NOV and APR due to lack of sun and we use propane for the oven and instant hot water. House runs like a normal house in the city, just takes a lot more work and different mechanics.
