MOTS-c (Mitochondrial Open reading frame of the Twelve S rRNA-c) is a 16-amino-acid, mitochondrial analogue peptide that has recently garnered some attention in bodybuilding circles thanks to its seemingly miraculous properties.

The role of MOTS-c is to regulate metabolic functions for the production of energy. It’s mechanism of action is incredibly complicated and not very well-understood, but we can get a good idea of its effects by reading the preclinical trials it has gone through and the anecdotal information shared by users who have experimented with it.

Benefits of MOTS-c

The benefits of this peptide are many, but chances are it has other properties that have not been studied yet.

In a nutshell, we could say that MOTS-c’s main function is to promote metabolic homeostasis. Therefore, it’s main benefits are:

  • A reduction of blood sugar levels and insulin resistance.
  • Improved metabolism, which translates to easier fat loss.
  • Fatty acid metabolism.
  • Greater energy levels.
  • Improved glucose disposal.
  • Prevents osteoporosis.
  • Improves cardiovascular endurance.
  • May help with muscle growth.
In other words, this peptide optimizes some of the primary metabolic pathways involved in fat loss, physical performance and muscle growth.

Side-effects of MOTS-c

MOTS-c appears to have no side-effects when used properly, but it would be safe to assume that it can cause hypoglycemia if abused or combined with compounds like Metformin, Insulin or even Berberine.

More scientific and anecdotal data is necessary to be able to determine other possible side-effects.

How to use it

Inject anywhere from 1 to 3mg subcutaneously every day. There is not set or agreed upon cycle length, but keep it to an effective minimum to prevent unexpected issues.

In conclusion, MOTS-C is a promising PED that could be extremely beneficial to any bodybuilder regardless of what their short-term and long-term goals are.

The majority of the research is based on elderly populations on mice. As we age as humans we drop MOT-C levels so I can see a use case for that, but otherwise we need studies on humans, especially age related.

Aside from, "I feel it" it's hard to see any significant markers to see if this makes any significant changes. Haven't seen much over the last 2 years to be honest.

Not saying it doesn't work, but everyone and their mother is on this shizzzz and probably don't need to be.

1 to 3mg subcutaneously every day? I ran 10mg a day for 10 days, then dropped to 5mg a day before my last cycle.

My understanding is if your younger (say under 45-40) MOT-C is a waste of money. Those of us over 40 on the other hand can recognize greater benefits. Currently running 2 mg daily.
It’s because your natural motsc levels decline in your late 30’s. Gotta wait till you’re 40 and confuse the body, right babe?

Where did you go? You only spam threads until someone questions you?

Never used mots-c. Interested in trying tho for sure.

Question, what peptide is more beneficial and the better overall peptide? L Carnitine or mots-c?

MOTS-C is one of the few peptides I’ve been thinking about giving a try. Given my age (70 in Aug.) and your first sentence in your post, would it be worth a try for me ? I was looking mostly at the energy increase it’s said it gives. I know nothing is a sure thing in the peptide world. Has anything new changed your thoughts on it ?

After seeing dozens of people on it and motoring all aspects of their training, health, nutrition, etc. I haven't seen anything significant from it via bloods to anything else. Some people who like it, say, "I feel this, I feel that." I haven't seen any evidence of it doing anything including the feedback from guys I coach or myself personally who ran it "feeling" anything.

Placebo is real and if MOT-C works for you in anyway, then God damn run it! Seriously. Or maybe it does works in some people and just haven't come across any which is quite possible. I have respect for people that do what they what. You asked me, so I just don't see the juice with the squeeze in many of the peptides. My opinion only.

Thanks! You train a lot of people I imagine, if you’re not seeing anything concrete that’s says a lot ! I believe in placebo also, have a couple of friends that have it bad and I’m on the opposite side of that, I’m skeptical of most everything, but I bought into some things, mostly supplements and got nothing that I know of out of them, so I dropped. Thanks! again, your opinion is what I wanted.

I would be most interested in the lowering of BG. Did you not see any evidence in that as well? You might have just saved me some money.

There have been trials done in its ability to help BG levels acting through AMPK.

As of current research lowest optimal dose for avg insulin resistance is 5mg taken 3x/week - so 15mg week while higher insulin resistance needs 10mg taken 3x/week so 30mg. These studies were only 12 weeks in length, so we don't know if it downregulates over time or much else. Bottom line. the reduction in BG is not remotely worth the price and more importantly the lack of long-term effects and current sides which there some as you know. They just don't have the data yet. Have to wait until more trials are done.

Plenty of ways to combat insulin resistance. We've done it for decades well before MOT-C :) Hell, pop some Berberine for super cheap. :ROFLMAO:

I ran Mot C this year, from Jan till 3rd week in March. Gave it a fair run and ran it high. Just to make sure I was using enough. I can say I didn't notice anything. I didn't feel this or that. Did it repair my mitochondria? I didn't notice as that's a big part of its point. In regards to bloods, nothing noticeable was detectable. Did it help with fat loss, as its also said to do? Didn't notice anything.

What has really helped insulin resistance for me and fat loss? Reta... The stuff works. I know this and see it on blood work.

Now running SS-31. I ran it for a month and had to stop. So called experts say to run MOT C first then SS31. Some say run them both together as they work synergistically, allegedly. Well, ran one bottle of SS31 so far and I can't say I notice much yet. Got two more bottles to run so I'm staying open minded. Running it 4mg EOD. Also running SLU and at 20-40mg, yes, MG! That I notice. Also, methylene blue...

I'm running the SS31 after a diet prep that included Clenb and Alpha Yohimbine. Thought it would be a good time to reset everything. I wouldn't run MOTc again for myself. Rather use my money on Reta, GH, high does SLU.

Similar. Got nothing out of Mot C

SLU I did injectable and felt some def heat and body temp increase. Doing 6-8mg a day injection

According to Jano in a couple of interviews, he says injecting SLU does nothing because it is not water soluble. He said they get sent stuff all the time to be tested and there’s literally nothing in it. The tests come back with nothing. He said the best way to take SLU is orally.

You can get SLU suspended in oil

I’m sure you could but why when you can just throw it in your mouth? Oral slu high mg is great.

b/c you don't put it in your mouth? And SLU has bad oral bio availability

MOTS didn’t do a damn thing for me except for give me a bee sting in my stomach every morning with a lasting sore spot for up to three days after lol. Used it daily for about a month before I just fridged the remains of my last vial.
Granted that I’m only 33 and already have the metabolism of a downsyndrome hummingbird.
Blessed it was a free trial gifted from a friend. Def glad I didn’t have to pay for the failed experiment. Maybe I’ll give the rest to a broccoli person at the gym and tell them it only works if you boof it.

What I meant was, swallow it. It’s amazing in the oral version. I use the 20-40mg and get amazing results.

Anyway, Jano, who is a chemist, has said that the oral version is the best way to use it. I can say he’s right based on my experience and others who have ran the high dose SLU. 250-500mcg does nothing, which is how most sources have been selling it.
