I was a classic Sig guy as in 226. I didn’t like 1911s because the ones in the Navy were worn out garbage.
Then I bought a custom shop Kimber. Changed my mind.
I could never wrap my head around the cheap feel of a Glock, but then after 5,000 rounds in two weeks at a course, I learned how to properly shoot them. A Glock is all I carry now, in different sizes.
Not my favorite but they are very good guns.

I have a sig and I love the trigger on it, my wife got a glock and I didnt get what the attraction was til I took it to the range and got used to it, tightened up my groups I just shoot better with it

It’s funny….i always wanted to hate Glocks. Couldn’t even tell you how many I’ve bought and sold. I’ve tried everything but always end up going back to the 19 as my primary.

I do love 1911’s. The absolute best….just a pain in the ass to maintain.
 
Although not the most popular option, don’t overlook the High Point. It has been used in dust, dirt, mud, water, and beach sand, and after 8,000 rounds, there has not been a single malfunction. I would choose this over a Glock any day.

I wanted to not like Glocks, my whole life, but the fact of the matter is you will not get a flatter shooting pistol at the same weight, that being said, I have zero glocks that are stock, they are all have modified trigger jobs or Glock performance trigger assemblies and add-ons, aftermarket frames, 5 pound Striker Springs, aftermarket connectors,red dot sights, I got one with a radian ram jet comp that shoots better than the staccato I just sold that weighs half as much, i even have a g19 with a manual safety ,I also like my modified sig p320s and 365s but the 320s are heavier and bulky and the Glock 19/17/45 does everything the 320 could do in a lighter package

I have a Hi-Point JHP 45. You pull the trigger and it goes boom. I got it for $159. I wanted to add a 45 to my collection, and just went for the cheapest option. If it gets stolen out of my car, no biggie. It's so basic and so heavy. Someone mentioned that if you run out of ammo, you can throw it at your foe and kill him that way lol. It sits in a place of honor next to my Staccato C2.

Had a buddy that loved his Hi Point, it was indestructible — just a big brick of lead slinger.

You’ve lost your mind, I would be embarrassed to tell people that was my gun, no offense, it’s a single stack brick of a pistol, only holds like eight or nine rounds ,I could never carry such a monstrosity, it’s like carrying that 18” first Motorola cellphone ever made from 1991 when there’s iPhones available

Exact same here, LOVED my P226 but now I carry a G19 or G19X. Just a workhorse.
 
I love my M&P 2.0 compact. Over 5k rounds of multiple grains and ammo types and never had one failure. I carry it AIWB everywhere I go

Still, if I needed to be in a firefight, especially a protracted one, my choice is the 226.
Those idiot young cop rangemasters at the academy, talking shit about Sigs, based on the bulletins they got on the P320, probably never had a classic Sig in their hands.
Imagine hating that gun. 🤦‍♂️

The old Sigs are solid but the 320 is truly a cluster fuck of a gun. I personally have seen one drop tested that discharged with a blank round loading it. The 320 is trash.

I attribute the 320 fiasco to trying to build a gun to make money from the US DoD. Should have stayed in their lane. Building a gun with a safety. Lol!
They sold a shitload of classic Sigs to JSOC in the P226 and more of the P228 to the USAF SIS…or whatever they are now called.
Try taking one away for either group. They LOVE these pistols.
My buddies had brand new H&K Mk23s but they sat in their lockers. The trusted the P226.

A funny thing to share about DevGru operators. When they got back after any op, they just tossed their guns into a barrel of CLP or something like it. They let the Gunner’s Mates clean their stuff. Must be nice.

I 100% agree with you on that. If you read into the DOD testing, they didn’t even finish, allowed Sig to make changes, then picked them as the contract winner. I’m sure some DOD personnel got a cushy job with Sig after it was over with.

Yeah if you look now at your Tier 1 guys, most of them now are carrying Glock 19’s. At least CAG guys are. They don’t trust the 320.

Yeah it would be nice to have someone clean my shit after a day on the range!

Growing up, those guns were considered throwaways. The kind only gang bangers or the homeless carried. I’ve heard the quality’s improved a lot in recent years, but I still can’t bring myself to believe Hi-Points are actually decent now. I think buying a Hi-Point requires a felony conviction.🤷

They’re still the preferred gang banger pistol unless they can get someone to make a straw purchase for a Glock. I would never buy a Hi-Point.
 
2 micro compacts 2 compact and a full size I'm not surprised... I have zero issues with Glock. I own one.. no frizzles does its job...

I own a lot of Glocks too. It’s not a sexy gun like a Kimber but it functions when it needs too and are very durable. Don’t leave home with out em!
 
I crack up now because every hood rat has a 2' long extended mag and a "switch". I will take my 15+1 against them any day. I even saw this stupid extendolux mag shit on the "Mayor of Kingstown" the other day when the warden pulled one of of the safe in her car after she left the prison and walked all the way to her car...across the kill zone.

Every time I see this I think of my buddy who was a Tier 1 operator, when I asked if he was concerned about the low capacity of our G42s.
"If I have to pull this out, I'm not spraying lead. I am dropping bodies."
Tough talk for a lot of guys. Not coming from him.
