For you dedicated meal planners. What does a meal day consist of? What snacks and shakes do you buy? Do you switch around carb sources depending on the workout day?

I've found the simpler I keep it, the easier it is to stick to. My plan is 4 meals a day with 2 shakes. The macros in the shakes are pretty much meal 5. One is a protein shake, post workout. One is a carb and eaa shake intra workout. Most of the time meals 2, 3, and 4 are the same meal (chicken rice veggies, or ground beef rice veggies). Sometimes I'll sub out rice for potatoes or some fruit. Meal one is Greek yogurt with a scoop of protein powder or eggs with fruit. It's just a whole lot of the same basic food.

I usually meal prep the night before for the next day. It’s a royal pain in the ass but I don’t have enough room in my fridge to do it any other way. The only thing I make in bulk is my rice

Meals and snack consist of
- Meat , usually chicken or beef
During a growth phase I use rice and fruit as my main carb sources

And also fruit and cream of rice are my snacks

I’ll make a big batch of proteins on Sunday.
Make a batch of rice each day in the rice cooker.
Prep 2-3 overnights at a time.
Couple creamis in the feeezer at all times.

Sometimes make a weeks worth of a meal- this week it was ground beef/turkey mix, sweet potatoes, onions, peppers.

I hate reheated veggies so I’ll just microwave a bag of frozens and use them for the day or eat raw veggies like bell peppers, cucumbers, tomatoes.

Nothing fancy but it works.

Why don't you just eat more planned meals? Trying to understand what the benefit of the snacking is doing?
I lowered fats to 50g, I’m at the end of a cut and the food noise is loud.
It’s completely reasonable to eat more planned meals. I was going to snack instead.

I typically bulk cook 6 pounds of 93% ground turkey or 96% ground beef twice a week as well as rice … those are usuallly 2-3 of my daily meals. My wife also eats them during the week. Breakfast is usually 3 hard boiled eggs, a couple slices of sourdough and 3-4 ounces grilled chicken breast

I like to fire up the grill and cook a large variety of meats in one wack for the week. I'll do steak, pork, chicken, etc.... Grill vegetables with them because grilling them makes them so much tastier.

I bought a rice cooker and make a large heap of rice. I sometimes mix pinto beans into the rice. From there I'll mix in meat in and portion them into glass containers. Being a spice addict, I load it up with hot sauce and red pepper. I also like making an overnight oat bowl with Greek yogurt, blueberries, cranberries, raisins, oatmeal, lactose free milk, chia seeds, and some monkfruit sweetener. These meals are insanely simple, but also super easy to roughly track calories.

I strayed away from protein powders. I used to supplement as ton with them. I do maybe one a day and it's mixed in with fruit or a milk and oatmeal combo.

Eggs and veggies plus what ever carb i wanted for breakfast for 30 years.
Sundays i would prep all my work food for the week. Usually chicken breast baked grilled, although sometimes i would just cook a whole turkey if i was in a gaining phase. Bunch of veggies and what ever card i wanted. Could be rice, potato, fruit, corn tortillas etc. Did this every week for over 25 years.
Had my post workout shake
Dinner was the only meal i would make that flavor was a high priority.

Sirloin steaks cut to meal size
Chicken thighs and or breasts
Thai rice and sirachi
Fruits
Hard boiled eggs and salad orange vinaigrette dressing

Make the rice fresh every morning
Make the meat for a couple days max

It’s not perfect, but you will hit your macros without snacks

Shakes optional

Making eggs enjoyable after years of eating them. lol, I’ll give that a shot.

I can eat eggs in almost all ways imaginable, even done raw before, but I cannot eat them hardboiled. Not sure why that is. Maybe if/when it's diced up and added into potato salad.
