I just recently came off a 24 week cycle and I’ve basically been dieting for about two years. All that is to say, I’m experiencing extreme diet fatigue, and over the past 6 days I’ve kind of let myself go from a food perspective. I’m not eating a pizza every day. I’m not downing cookies and donuts. But I have had some extra protein pudding. I bought a Snickers bar from CVS the other day and I would never do that. The main culprit has been bread. Over consuming sourdough. Anyway, the scale has gone up 12 pounds over the last six days. I know that it’s not fat because I haven’t consumed an extra 7,000 cal per day or whatever it would take to get 12 pounds of fat. And I look fine. I’m just wondering where the hell the 12 pounds is. I see swings of 2-3 lbs often. I’ve never seen 12 so to me this is crazy I’d like to hear your stories of similar adventures and how long did it take you to normalize back to where you were prior to the binge episode

This is why day-today scale weight is a poor metric. Just like @Meetketchup stated, Glycogen and Water. I am one that also can have massive glycogen and water scale noise from day to day. Even with my diet staying on check, getting 2-4lb scale swings is not uncommon for me. Increased carbohydrates and salt intake magnifies it, and depending on BW, it can be even more extreme. Localized immflamation from heavy lifting also causes me scale noise for the following couple of days. Get your diet back in check and you should start to normalize again over the next 7-10 days. You havent tanked yourself, but had a minor detour. Get it reeled in.

....even though I'm a Milky Way man, a big ass snickers, or seven, does sound good though.

You just had to say Milky Way didn’t you. Lol. I can’t even look at Reese’s - or go down the peanut butter aisle for that matter.

Not worth stressing because regardless the solution is the same; get back on diet and however long it takes to stabilize, is how long it takes.
