Is this stuff really, essentially, calorie free? I've read it has calories but your body is unable to process them. I want to make sure this is really the case before I go dumping 40g of this stuff in my Creami concoction.

Here you go.

Lakanto Monk Fruit Sweetener is a popular zero-calorie, sugar-free alternative made primarily from monk fruit extract (luo han guo) blended with erythritol. It’s designed as a 1:1 replacement for regular sugar in taste, texture, and baking performance.

Key Features

• Ingredients (Classic version): Non-GMO erythritol and monk fruit extract. No other additives in the standard Classic or Golden varieties.

• Nutrition (per typical serving, e.g., 2 tsp / ~8g): 0 calories, 0 net carbs, 0 glycemic impact. It’s keto-friendly, diabetic-friendly, vegan, gluten-free, and non-GMO.

• Taste and Use: Monk fruit is naturally ~250x sweeter than sugar, so it’s diluted with erythritol for a granular, sugar-like texture and cup-for-cup substitution in coffee, tea, baking (cookies, desserts), cooking, etc. Many users report little to no aftertaste, though some note a mild cooling effect from erythritol.

Yes. The erythritol will have very minor amounts of cals (not even enough worth considering), but monk fruit is a non nutritive natural sweetener.
