There are a lot of people who stress easily, overthink, worry and even get neurotic in a deep cut or contest prep. Makes wanting to train harder when calories are low and cardio is high with weight loss stalling. This raises cortisol levels and is mentally fatiguing which can transfer to physical fatigue. It's the killer of physiques whether it be weight loss or holding water. For people who badly suffer from this especially in contest prep, I tell them to get a deep tissue massage/Swedish in the same session. Like clockwork for the next few days/week weight will drop as the person is relaxed, renewed in the gym and some pain you may be experiencing goes away.

You can find very cheap deals on Groupon if money is an issue. I had one done in NY this morning for $45. I was really dragging, sore, fatigued. It's been a few hours since the session feeling loose, relaxed, at peace and actually ready to kill the rest of the week. For all the money people invest doing a show, booking 3 or 4 sessions over the course of prep is nothing.

Just something that is a tool that can be used and of course not everyone needs it. Some people are naturally chill or use other things to stay on point.

Have one scheduled for tomorrow. First one in almost a year. But I try to get 3-4 per year at least usually. I love getting rubbed on.

Happy Ending extra 🤷 ,?
Sorry couldn't help myself,🤣🤣

I used to go for deep tissue massage twice a week for years. Just haven't had the time or motivation. Its amazing what they do in all aspects. especially people with shoulder issues.

@chadmack stay away from any massage place that has Chinese people. Those are the places apparently that just jerk you off and give you a bullshit massage. If getting wacked off is anybody's thing, why not just sit on your left hand until the thing goes numb. Hand and stone is kind of shitty place too where the people are fresh out of massage school. In your area, you will find more professional people that know anatomy and listen to you that's been doing it a while. Yeah a little bit more expensive but worth every penny

id take it a step further and just say relaxation is important regardless of the phase.

my current growth phase has been outstanding, but last few weeks has really stalled out almost exclusively imo because I just have had no downtime.

wife's due in May, so dealing with the "nesting phase" with the honey do list, swamped with work and side businesses, most days the first chance I get to relax for the day, is about 20 minutes before bed.
and my progresses stall coincides with this uptick in workload.

fortunately me and the missus have a massage/spa weekend this weekend that's been desperately needed for both of us that I've been looking forward to like a kid with Christmas.
