My HDL consistently sucks. No matter what I do it's low. Even LDL is in range and total cholesterol is too.

I do all the shit the Internet says. Exercise, cardio. Not obese.have healthy fat, fish oil, don't drink/smoke

Rosuvastatin my only option?

Citrus Bergamot and Carradine will give a tiny bump. Unfortunately, you are doing what we all do, and lower HDL is inherent with PED's.
This isn't even PEDs related, def doesn't help during cycle lol. It's always sucked, idk if it can be hereditary or not (haven't looked).

FWIW, I’m taking 5 mg of Atorvastatin per night, they don’t make it that small so I have to cut the 10 mg I get . If I don’t take it, and I just tried this about 3 months, my BW I just got back showed my HDL low out of range, not bad 39 ,but if I continued I’m not sure how low it would have gone. My LDL was fine, so I hate having to take a statin, but it works for me.

I wouldn’t stress. What’s your LDL? As long as it’s sub 90, you are at very low risk of any CV related disorders.

There have been countless clinical trials with agents that significantly increase HDL, and all of them had no positive impact in any CV related outcomes. This pretty much tells us HDL is less important than we thought, and LDL (mostly aboB) is much more important

Man im in the same boat. HDL used to be in the 60/70s unmedicated now it hangs 30/40. Im using a statin, fish oil, fiber, citrus bergamot, taurine, niacinamide cant seem to get it back up to where it was when I was younger.

So many factors my friend. Not going to be cookie cutter for everyone but at age 61 cycling for over 30 years my overall cholesterol is around 170 and HDL always around 55 to 65.
I eat half of avocado daily. My diet consists of lots of fish at least three times a week either with dinner or lunch. Almonds, pistachios and cashews for snack. Sardine in Olive oil for snack. Never smoked which that could have an impact as well. Most important fiber. I drink a glass of Metamucil every night before bed. Again, not sure if this works for everyone, but it seems to be doing it for me. Best of luck my friend

Hdl can definitely drift down with age, just as others can drift up, but doesn’t happen to everyone. Lipids also to shift to the negative when doing more resistance and less cardio for many/most people. Atorvastatin can raise hdl by about 5% at low doses (weirdly that effect goes away for most at higher ones). Rosuvastatin is slightly better at raising hdl and is more potent mg for mg - but they have both been shown to be equally effective in lowering CV event risk.

So, looks like lowering the bad is more important than raising the good (as said above). Like MK said, you’re doing all the stuff - good (supps/meds) and bad (PEDs) - that we all do and seeing the same issues. But if you can keep the bad ones at bay you’re probably doing the major work of keeping your risk lower.

Best is to drops PEDs, crank cardio, live like a monk - and have better lipids but die anyway as a sad skinny man lol

If you’re really worried about, get a cardiac work up with all the bells and whistles and get under a cardiologist’s care. Won’t make you perfect but can give you a better idea of your risk profile and how to manage it than just a lipid panel

Good luck brother!

I include all the usual suspects that have been mentioned but recently added GW 0742 for the first time which is the newer Cardarine and my HDL went up a few points for the first time in ages while ON cycle.

Cool. Appreciate the info.

Sounds like don't really stress as long as my other markers are solid

I've noticed this newer version works even better for me, in all aspects. I can run it lower than the 10gms 2xper day on the older version. Not by much, though.

checked your log real quick and didnt see what you eat specifically browsing the last few pages.
only thing I could say maybe trying that you may already do, is increase fiber, (psyllium husk maybe 6g a day) and add in some oats and see if it helps any or at all. it definitely wont hurt you.

but you do mention its always been like that so may just be one of those things you need to keep an eye and not stress to much as long as everything else is good.
