How much cardio are you doing these days?

I’m shooting for 20 min post lift 2 days a week and 2 LISS sessions of 40-45 minutes twice a week. The older I’m getting heart health and longevity are becoming more and more important

I’m 42, depends on the phase but I do cardio year round.

During a cut, I’ll do 30-40 minutes 5-7 days/week. Off season I cut it to 20 minutes same amount of days.
 
No less than 20 minutes per session, Its time to increase though, I get alot of cardio outside in the summer, maybe its just time to vacation though winter haha

All depends on my goals at the time. Off-season is like 20 minutes four days a week. Cut can go up to 40 minutes or higher seven days a week. Should be no different if you’re 30 or 60. Get your damn cardio in and stay healthy and manipulated it as needed for weight loss.
 
I alternate between 20 yd sprints with a sled and walking for about 45min on my non lifting days. I prefer the sled, it's quicker and I feel more athletic and energetic when I'm consistent.
 
Typically 40min 6 days a week year round.. been slacking lately since sleeps been rough.

Winter 20 minutes 6 days per week. Spring/Summer work up to 40 - 45 minutes 5-6 days per week. Keep the diet diet year round.... 53 y/o. Increase calories during the winter, then slow drop starting in April.
 
Over 40. Used to lift 5-6 days a week. I found myself chronically injured and burnt out. I lift 3 days a week currently. Making the best gains ive made in years with the scale back. I have a single speed mountain bike that I ride 3 days a week as well. Im well above zone II for the majority of the ride, but its fun and I love doing hard cardio outside. I got in a slump over the summer and wasnt doing cardio for the first time in years and felt like absolute dog shit so at this point id say its as important or more important than lifting for me.
 
I’m only 25, but fwiw I always do at least 30 mins cardio fasted ED year round minimum. It’s the least we can do for our health when choosing this enhanced lifestyle imo, not to mention all the other benefits for our goals that come along with it (and that applies whether trying to add size or lose fat). I would imagine this all only applies even more as we age.
 
I do 25 mins on treadmill each AM (Mon - FRI), do my lifting after that (M - F) and in nice months go for 2 walks a day w/ the dog.
(Each walk is around 30 mins). I normally do the dog-walks daily (include weekends). Now freezing temps out there, the 2-a-days w/ the dog have stopped, and I try to get one in w/ him when its not so brutal outside. Like today for example, gonna be high 40's soo we'll go out. Not sure if what I do is considered cardio, but I get my steps in...

I see some people at the gym say they are doing cardio, and they are walking at a snails pace. Sorry, its not 'cardio'..

Yep. I hate when people say they do their cardio but they just mean they get their 10k steps lol. They’re missing the most important part, which is actually pushing their heart to get the cardiovascular benefits.

Agreed, I’m in my 40’s and wish I would have taken cardio seriously at your age. We often look at it as a fat loss tool, but cardio is about living longer and healthier. And the longer and healthier we live the more muscle we can accrue.
 
Try and make whole routine cardio based
Minumum rest between sets.
On really cardio days.
Use ropes,sprints,box jumps,hopping knee touches jumping jacks,etc..
Mix it up always.
Call it every other day cardio .
Keeps my bp in check,glucose,etc..
If ya ain't got wind!
Ya ain't got shit!
 
Walk 4 miles every morning M-Sat
Walk 6 miles Sunday Morning

Will usually walk 2-3 miles in the afternoon most days. Almost all Zone 2

I'll mix in some jump rope and rower sessions
 
62. My morning routine is piss, drink fiber/greens (and whatever else I have) concoction, ride bike LISS for 30 minutes or more. I vary times at random.
Like if I am typing a lengthy response on some stupid forum, I might go 45 minutes or an hour.
 
I like to do 5-6 minutes of HIIT. 20/40 work/rest post workout twice per week. I ramp it up if I’m trying to lose fat to 4-5 times and a few more minutes. Also walk lots daily.

Agreed, I’m in my 40’s and wish I would have taken cardio seriously at your age. We often look at it as a fat loss tool, but cardio is about living longer and healthier. And the longer and healthier we live the more muscle we can accrue.
The benefits are endless and even greater given our goals. Daily cardio is an absolute non negotiable in my mind.
 
I get in 2-3 high intensity cardio sessions and 2 low and slow zone 2-3 sessions per week and have found this to be most effective for me. The high intensity session have made a solid impact on V02 max for sure plus lean me out more than standard elliptical stuff. Norwegian 4x4 on the stairmill is brutal but Iv learned to love it. Anything on the assault bike is great for the high intensity stuff. If you want something that will break you, max calories in one minute on that thing will do it. Also, Simply walking a mile or so after meals is underrated.
 
On a bulk I stop cardio for a couple months.... But normally 35-90 min a day depending.
