Let me preface by saying this is a boring story that doesn’t contain any pics and has nothing to do with bodybuilding. I just figured I’d tell it because this one kid kinda restored my faith in humanity. Only for about 45 minutes but it still moved me.

So anyway I rent the Yoga room at the one gym I go to sometimes in the early morning for rolling. Usually a couple times a week. We start at 4:00am because at that time not too many people are in there.

So today as I’m rolling out the mats I notice this little dude (10 yrs old maybe) just watching me like a hawk. I then saw that his mom kept scolding him for bothering me. It was no bother so I ask his mom if he was allowed to come in and mess around with us? They have a little room for kids but he didn’t are about that shit. You could tell he wanted to roll with the guys. lol

She said ok but made me aware he was a little slow. I’m not sure what was wrong with him (I didn’t want to ask his mom) but after spending a few minutes working with him I could tell he was a little off. I don’t want to say retarded but he was. Sorry

Anyway I included him like he was one of the boys and the kid absolutely loved it. Little fucker was just so happy to be rolling with us he never stopped smiling and laughing. Constantly kicking and karate chopping us.

So after letting him kick my ass for a little I went into my gym bag and pulled out an old pair of my 4oz mma gloves. I put those things on him you would have thought I just gave him a million dollars. Little dude was shadow boxing like a mofo. Laughing and throwing air punches like he was the heavy weight champion of the world. Made my fucking day.

I truly do hate most people but this one kid was so happy and innocent that he actually made me think that there is still hope. Damn fucking shame normal people can’t operate with even half the goodness this kid does.

Needless to say I think I just inherited another sparring partner. 😂

I always said downs kids are the happiest people on the planet. Everyone I’ve ever come across just doing their thing happy as hell about everything.

I envy them.

If only my parents could have been siblings….

Brother you just totally changed that kids life. You don’t often get the chance in life to do that.

I hope I did because the little fucker changed mine. Like I said it was only for 45 minutes but it’s 45 minutes I didn’t hate everybody.

At the end of the day no matter how happy he was I still think I enjoyed it more than he did. He made my day.

He should thank his mom for being hot though. If she was ugly I wouldn’t have given him my 2nd favorite pair of gloves.

Kinda regretting that part now. Lol

@AR-15 Doing Gods work brother 💪🏼

Yeah watch now I’ll probably get sued. I never thought to ask the Mom if he had any physical imitations that I might not necessarily see.

We obviously just play fought but now what if he wakes up tomorrow with a bruise or something? Dad might be some woke half fag type guy that thinks play fighting is real violence.

See now I’m already starting to hate people again.

That's a fucking awesome story AR!!
All the good vibes!!
PRICELESS!

I used to love Rev gear gloves, I wore a pair out so bad my left hand starting to hurt, then I noticed the padding was completely gone, never got another pair that I liked as much as that pair, I do have some really nice tittle gel impacts, good quality but the 16s fell more like 20s they are fugn heavy. anyway I said all that to say I tend to try out gloves and give them away when I dont like them to the younger guys.

good work bro

We know where the world’s headed. You probably just created the world’s first “Retarded” world champion. That’ll be his origin story. Mad respect, a lot of guys nowadays would have probably looked at that kid and said "what the fuck are you looking at".

I still have doubts maybe they were siblings.

Funny how little acts of kindness can make the persons (and your) day. Good on you AR-15...

I upgraded my Smith-Machine in my home gym recently, put mine on Marketplace. Very cheap just to move it out. (100.00).
A gal reached out, said she would come and buy it. I looked at her profile, noticed she is a new trainer, and opened a small fitness studio.
She has new twin girls, and really trying to get her business going. (Young African American girl).

We put it in her truck and she asked if I take Venmo. I told her to keep that money for her babies, I don't need it.
You might have though I gave her 10-grand or something. She gave me and my wife huge hugs and she teared up a bit.
Sometimes small gestures mean a ton to someone else.

I once did a show and there was this downy cheering me on from the front row. I stepped off the stage and handed him my banana hammock, with my number button still attached. He was so excited because my competitor number was 23+.
In hind sight, I probably should have waited until I went backstage.
I guess that explains the ban from the NPC/IFBB.

On a brighter note, I appeared in the cover of “Big Bear Daddy” the next month. I am big in San Francisco now.

This is such a powerful and heartwarming story. Sometimes, it’s the simple moments with pure, genuine joy that remind us what really matters and help restore our faith in humanity. That kid sounds like an absolute legend, and it’s awesome how you included him and made his day. Here’s hoping he continues to bring that kind of light and energy to your sparring sessions!
