So there are a few things going on with me that have me questioning what exactly the cause of this is but wanted to get some potential shared experiences.

My BP is almost always 120/80 with slightly elevated Systolic, sometimes. I’ve been on TRT (150/) for a while now and no changes to BP or RHR.

I just started a cycle @ 500/ Test Cyp and was going to attempt 4 weeks of Anavar @ 20mg pre workout.

I am also having terrible nerve pain atm…long story…and I’m not sure if perhaps that’s the cause of it (I have NOT measured BP pre-cycle and post-pain, unfortunately) but…

My Systolic has skyrocketed to consistently bw 140-150. Zero other symptoms. Feel amazing (other than the nerve pain). In response, I’ve:

-Dropped the Var (right decision?)
-Dropped all caffeine
-Added CoQ10
-(haven’t yet) but my next step would be to cut the Test significantly

Is this typical early on?

Just looking for some thoughts.

Bloods were perfect the day before I started the cycle.

TIA!

Yes, discontinue Anavar. Dealing with multiple drugs to figure out a problem won’t work. You were fine before all this so the only change is drugs. Don’t get into the trap of taking more drugs to fix what the first drugs caused.
If using AAS is that important to you drop back to 300mg test a week with NO other AAS. If things don’t improve reevaluate if this is that important to continue risked health.
Now that’s the Dad talk.

How old are you?
Height and weight?
Do you drink/smoke?
Any family heart disease?
How is your hydration?

Supplementation can only do so much. CoQ10 is fine but it’s like comparing a BB gun to a bazooka when you add in AAS.

Break the 500 up. Shoot 250 Monday and 250 Thursday.

Follow what tommy said.

Also donate blood or eat grapefruit daily Guaranteed your RBC and CBC is on the border of high , almost every single bodybuilder or gym rat is in such a phsyical position due to working out so much.

Hydrate better...not just water. Electrolytes too, minus sugar.

Ty sir. Anavar is gone and I’ll drop the Test.

I’m 38, 5’10” 190 no history of heart disease or smoking and hydration is really good.

Thanks man. Its broken up to once every two days. Gonna drop back on all of it and go from there. Appreciate y’all’s help!

Upping the gear tends to usually increase blood pressure at first. You gain water, not necessarily subcutaneously if diet is perfect, but even intramuscular water gain is a shock to the body.
Awesome to know and I probably should’ve known this sooner haha

I remember when I started TRT years ago my RHR went up about 15-20% and then it came down to normal a few weeks after starting.

Update for anyone interested:

-The Anavar drove my BP up a good amount (likely 10-15 points on Systolic). It kind of put me in fight/flight mode. Made me feel amazing but certainly drove it up some.
-Couple this with my lack of cardio bc of an injury and, of course, a heavier dose of Test caused it.

Thanks to everyone who helped. Once I started the cardio back, my Systolic went back to below 120, still on 500/.

Cardio is key with my bp as well man!

What kind of cardio are you doing and how many times per week?
Grappling/MMA. Heavy, heavy cardio. Basically I try to do 10-15 rounds of 8 mins each scattered across 4 days of 7. Some days harder than others.

I did ZERO for a little of two weeks when my BP skyrocketed but there were obviously other correlations.

What was your E2? Was is LC/MS?

Great question. 42.5 (not LC/MS…ECLIA or whatever it is) of which I’ve heard generally overestimates). That said, it’s relatively high for me on TRT.

I started the 500/ a few days after my bloods (which were flawless) but I do think I was already retaining some extra water and the E2 was a little high, again for me.

It’s good you added cardio back in but E2 being out of range can cause issues with BP due to water retention.

It would have been interesting to see your E2 on the 500mg and anavar. You may have been able to stay on anavar and 500mg test and just added an AI if needed. 🫡

Man you’re so right. One of my big issues here too is just not having an updated baseline bc I just forgot to take my BP say once/wk or once/month (few times throughout the day). I won’t make that mistake again.

I’m likely going to try and add the Anavar back in towards the backend of the cycle if my BP looks good. I’m only 3.5 wks in. Going to try and bulk up about 12-15 good lbs and likely try the Var again.

It’s wild bc man that stuff made me feel so good @ just 20mg haha.

BTW I have added a little A-Zole. I normally only need it about once/month on TRT @ 0.5 but I’m running 0.5 once/week rn and it’s helped as well.

If I add the Var back I’ll send another update ITT.

All good things to be aware of.

Keep in mind, the half life of anastrazole is about 48 hours. If you do injections twice/week might want to break that 0.5mg into 0.25mg and take on injections days for better E2 management.

Will do. Ty!
