I have incredibly painful elbows. Actually, most of my joints scream at me but I ignore them like it is an irrate woman yelling at me.
But my elbows…man, I can’t get away from them. I have tried multiple times TB/BPC, every joint formula, CBD creams and gels. Nothing relieves the pain.
I see guys in the States wearing those neoprene looking sleeves. No one here because they’d need to color coordinate, the fags that they are.
What do they do, really, and do they help?
I generally don’t like these sort of things, like belts and wraps. I just don’t lift heavy enough. But I have started wearing gloves because of my arthritis, which also has me using Versa-Grips.
I sure could use some help.
I see those things and wonder if I can even stretch them over my forearms, which are bigger than my elbows.

What’s the scoop fellas?

Yep I used the inzer ones when I had terrible tendonitis.

The main thing that helped me was to do slower reps, and less super heavy explosive presses, etc.

Also I had a cortisone shot once. Then of course within 2 weeks my strength was enormous, so I pushed it and next thing you know I heard a pop in my elbow. Turned out I had a small Calcium deposit that popped and this left a hole in the tricep tendon, so the doctor treated it like a mild tricep tendon tear. I was immediately out of the gym for 8 weeks upper body at least.

The inzer ones let me work through the pain very well. The small compressions didn't do much for me.

There’s nothing wrong with using elbow sleeves for general lifting. If you’re competing in powerlifting, it will become an issue because federations won’t allow you to bench while wearing elbow sleeves, but they are good for off-season training. Where on your elbow is your pain? Do you know if it’s tennis elbow or golfers elbow?

The sleeves help. Also use the firing the gun technique when you pull - only use the middle, ring and pinky. There is also some twist thing bar on Amazon that helps. I will have to look it up

The sleeves help me when my elbows act up for sure. I’m not rlly sure why they help, but my best guess is because it keeps everything tight and in place. Kind of like using a lifting belt. They are a bit annoying to wear but I get use to it when I need them. I just bought some random brand off Amazon. Seems to work well. They have a bull logo on them I think. I’ll have to dig them out and see what they are

I'll second the Inzer sleeves. Best ones you can get for support. I will add that it helps to get some little cheap cotton sleeves from the pharmacy to wear under them because the material isnt the most comfortable material against the skin. The little cotton sleeves under them make rhe difference.

I also found that stopping myself from getting old has helped reduce the pain. Just a thought.

For what it’s worth Sir I’ve been trying to nurse a torn meniscus in my knee until my fight next month and a compression sleeve definitely helps with mobility and pain. Maybe it’s really doing something or maybe it’s placebo but I personally don’t care. At the very least they provide heat on the joint keeping it flexible. That’s the way I see it anyway.

The above was written by the new and improved me. The old me would have told you to stop being such a pussy and whining like a little bitch. I mean your what 59 or 60 years old and your built like a legit brick fucking shithouse. Your built better than 98% of 25year olds walking this planet and your bitching about a little pain. You’ll have to forgive me for not feeling at all bad for you. Where I’m sitting it’s a pretty even trade.

Na seriously though I don’t know all the factual shit about compression sleeves but I personally don’t see a down side. Give them a shot and see. Good luck bro. Pain does suck so hopefully you can find a solution.

When my joints get bad enough from an injury or i am putting off a surgury i start using capsaicin cream as i wont use NSAIDS regularly. I find it helps and some studies back it up. It desensitizes nerve ends some.

I look at them as preventative maintenance.
Been dealing with tendinitis and the sleeves help a ton and so do wrist wraps. Slowly improving, will continue using even after it’s gone

I am 62. I know that keeping or, god forbid, improving my physique comes with a cost. I work through the pain. I just would love a little break. The majority of my pain comes with tricep exercises and if I am honest with myself, I don’t really need bigger triceps or arms in general, but even doing these at lighter weights to maintain still kill.

I recently got an MRI of my left shoulder. It has 2/3 to 3/4 full thickness tears in the infra and supraspinatus, 3/4 labral tears and a bunch of other shit. My right shoulder, which was already repaired in 2007, looks about the same as the left. I have trained with these for a years now. I live with a lot of chronic pain everywhere, as I am sure you do. I have no doubt most guys would just quit if they ached as much as I do.

I started wearing gloves because in near contest condition the fat pads on my hands disappear and it feel like barbell on bone, even on machines. Even now, a bit fatter than stage shape, my hands really fucking hurt, so I wear gloves pretty much all the time. Even leg day….just kidding.

I have no problem traing through the pain. But if I can alieve it even a little, I would love it.

I’ve seen guys get some relief from elbow sleeves, especially with tendonitis. One dude I know used Inzer sleeves and said they helped him work through the pain by keeping the joint warm and stable. He also mentioned slowing down his reps and avoiding explosive presses to help manage it. Just a thought - might be worth looking into.

I know Sir. I was just busting your old ass balls out of jealousy.
