E.J.D's 75 Hard log

Live Your Life
Chief Tecumseh

So live your life that the fear of death can never enter your heart.
Trouble no one about their religion; respect others in their view,
and demand that they respect yours.
Love your life, perfect your life, beautify all things in your life.
Seek to make your life long and its purpose in the service of your people.

Prepare a noble death song for the day when you go over the great divide.
Always give a word or a sign of salute when meeting or passing a friend,
even a stranger, when in a lonely place.
Show respect to all people and grovel to none.
When you arise in the morning give thanks for the food and for the joy of living.
If you see no reason for giving thanks, the fault lies only in yourself.
Abuse no one and no thing,
for abuse turns the wise ones to fools and robs the spirit of its vision.

When it comes your time to die,
be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death,
so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time
to live their lives over again in a different way.
Sing your death song and die like a hero going home.”

PURSUE A GREATER PURPOSE
April 02, 2023 AndyGram

An often overlooked reason many people feel burned out isn't because they are actually "burned out."

It's because the goals, projects, and dreams they spend their time on aren't big enough to inspire them and keep them inspired over the course of time.

They are unclear on their purpose, mission, and goals.

Doing something when you have no idea why you are doing it will have you feeling "burned out" in a day.

So ask yourself:

Are you actually "burned out"?

Are you actually even trying?

Be honest.

…or are you sick and tired of living a life that's much less than the one you truly want for yourself?

If the answer is almost always the latter...

It's not a "rest and reset" that you need...

It's aggressive action toward a bigger dream.

Obviously rest is important.

Obviously breaks are important.

But if you aren't aggressively working toward the big dream that you're scared to pursue and even talk about...

It won't matter how much rest you take...

You will always feel burned out.

Something to think about.

Day 61 has come to a close. Day has been won. Fighting thru this period of extreme exhaustion. Entering in the fortnight stretch run I'm going to have to buckle down harder because I don't accept or use excuses for not giving everything daily. I'm wired to win and claim the victory.

Day 62. The day has been won. Long exhausting day plus a extra sprinkling under the weather. The bipolar weather here isn't helping my sinuses. The day is won and looking forward to what tomorrow will bring.

DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?
April 04, 2023 AndyGram
It amazes me how many people claim to be motivated and will do "whatever it takes"...

But at the same time, they can't pay attention to the small details.

If you can't pick up a piece of trash from the ground...

If you can't clean your piss droplets off the toilet rim...

If you can't park your car between the lines...

What makes you think you have what it takes?

How you do one thing is how you do EVERYTHING.

You can't pick and choose between which tasks you decide to "do right" and which ones you don't.

Doing things the right way is a character trait and habit you develop by executing at a high level over and over and over again at every opportunity over time.

If you cut corners on the things you don’t consider to be important…

You will cut corners on the things that ARE important.

Every time you execute on a small detail of any kind you are adding and investing in your skill set of discipline. (Especially when it’s something that isn’t technically your responsibility)

Stay disciplined to these details and execute at a high level ... as much as you possibly can … always.

When you start taking this seriously...

You will shape yourself into someone who can execute perfectly whenever you need to.

I don't know another skill set one can develop that is more valuable than that.

Day 63 has been won. Had a good fairly heavy chest workout which in turn slightly tweaked my lower back. Other than that cruising along with just some minor bumps in the journey. Racking up wins day after day. I'm grateful for this journey I embarked on.

You can't get to better with out bumpy,
Those bumps mold us into stronger individuals

Day 64 has arrived. I'm grateful for this day. I'm grateful for the opportunity to inspire someone to make a positive step in their lives. I'm grateful for the support of everyone who's checked out this log. I'm grateful that I have the opportunity to hit the gym later. I'm grateful that I get to control my attitude and effort I put in this day.

YOUR STRUGGLES WILL MAKE YOU A CHAMPION
April 05, 2023 AndyGram

When you set out to tackle a new challenge or develop a new habit...

At first, it usually feels like a massive struggle.

It’s supposed to be.

…but through the reps you take and the experience you gain...

The things that were once a massive struggle for you are no longer a big deal...

You don’t even think twice about doing them.

They become second nature.

Why is this?

It's not that these things are any easier than they were before...

No...

YOU just got STRONGER.

You get calloused in the best way possible.

You have to understand and accept that the pain you experience during your struggles is required for your growth...

Face it head on and always remember this...

The struggles and pain you feel today will give you the strength you need to tackle bigger problems in the future.

Be intentional about building this type of toughness.

It’ll be the hardest, most rewarding commitment you will ever make to yourself, your family & your community.

Every struggle you endure is another step you take toward becoming a champion.

That's why there are so few champions…

…but you can be one of them.

You have to understand and accept that the pain you experience during your struggles is required for your growth...

The struggles and pain you feel today will give you the strength you need to tackle bigger problems in the future.

Day 64 has been won. Solid productive day overall. Had a very heavy back workout which surprisingly my lower back felt good with no ill effects. Tomorrow morning might be another story but I will cross the bridge tomorrow. I'm 400 pages into Benjamin Franklin An American Life with much more to go. I'm grateful for another victory!!! I hope all of you had victorious days today as well!

From 75 Hard book

Going into God mode day 64-75

You're in the home stretch.
What you will learn by this time is that you can't bypass the battle.
You will always have to work to continue to develop more and more mental toughness in your life.

BASE HITS WIN THE GAME
April 06, 2023 AndyGram

How are most baseball games won?

They’re won by stringing together base hits...

...and consistently adding as many runs to the scoreboard as possible.

Winning in business and life is no different.

In order to make real progress...

You have to stack up the small wins over and over again.

The compounding effect of these wins will ultimately be what helps you win the long game...

But most people have this concept completely backward.

Instead of focusing their efforts on their daily execution and accumulating the small wins every day...

They pour their energy into trying to hit a home run.

They think if they can get one massive hit...

They're going to be set for life.

I see this all the time in business...

Most companies look for the one big deal...

The one viral video...

The one partnership...

The one ad campaign that makes millions...

...and this strategy may get them some traction for a short time...

But it won't last.

When you're always looking for the home run...

1. There is a 99% chance you will never get it

2. Even if you do get it, you will have no way to replicate that win over and over again in the future

So, if you actually want to win...

Whether it's in business or in life...

You have to shift your focus to adding one small win on top of the other by executing on these opportunities every single day.

No other strategy will guarantee your success.

Day 65 is complete. The day has been won. I'm grateful that I got to have a outside workout with weights early this morning while it was 56 degrees. I'm grateful I made it through this day victorious. I'm grateful this opportunity. I hope everyone won their days today!!

BE GRATEFUL FOR CHANGE
April 07, 2023 AndyGram

Change is a part of reality...

...and it's something you have to accept and embrace if you truly want a fulfilling life.

Your relationships will change...

Your path will change...

Your motivations will change...

Your plans will change...

But you can't allow these things to make you bitter about life.

Be grateful for change and the lessons and experiences that come with it.

That's how all winners react to change.

They don't fight it...

They don't pout about it...

They don't let it bury them...

They embrace it and understand that the longer they fight change...

The longer they'll keep themselves from the next opportunity.

Start seeing change as a necessary component to becoming great and building the life of your dreams...

Otherwise, your resistance to change will be the reason why neither of these things happen for you.

Day 66... The day has been won. Feeling run down physically but mentally strong as bull. Enjoying this journey. I'm grateful I took on the challenge beyond words I could articulate.

May not comment here alot but I really enjoy checking in to your log 💪

"If you want to master the mind and remove your governor, you’ll have to become addicted to hard work. Because passion and obsession, even talent, are only useful tools if you have the work ethic to back them up."

I swear, his words of purposefully making yourself uncomfortable are words to live by. I remember that every time I don't feel like doing something.

I try to put myself in uncomfortable situations daily. Do things that I might not necessarily want to do. For instance this afternoon during my outside workout about 10 minutes into my cardio I was like man, let's do some band, cable and cement block work instead. Then I switched off my Bitch voice and told myself no your going to continue the cardio for another 35 minutes. I was also listening to David Goggins book Can't Hurt Me the taking souls chapter.

Day 67 has been won!! Legs feel good even though I did kinda trash them today in a workout. Strength is coming back slowly. I'm happy with that progress. I'm grateful for another victory.... Looking forward to what tomorrow is going to bring.

Day 68 has been won. It was a interesting day which I will get into later. Had a heavy chest workout which made me smile. Strength on the up and up. Overall a good day. I hope everyone had a good one as well.

Same to u.looking foward to that story later

Day 69 has come to a close. It had highs and a somber tone as well. Back workout was solid even though I was pretty fried from yesterdays chest workout. Powered through, gave my best effort. On a somber note my outside workout consisted of me taking our cat fluff outside for 1 last basking in the sun while I did my workout. He's in full organ shut down with CKD. Tomorrow he will be put to rest. He was a good boy who we took in as a stray. He followed us around while we walked the dogs for awhile. We feed him while he stayed outside until one day he decided yeah I'm coming inside. I choose you as my caretakers. He's had many years of love, luxury, and being spoiled after he was abandoned by his original owner sometime along his journey thru life. You will be missed bud.
