Just had yearly labs done for my pcp. They weren't terrible but the usual offenders were out of norms slightly. Ldl/hdl, blood counts were a little bit high nothing crazy. Do you tell you doctor your on gear or deny deny deny? Even though to me its obvious.

Well I dont know really . Im a nurse so when I see those lab patterns I just know. I guess I assume they would to . Just trying to get a feel on what everyone else does.

Mine found out unintentionally but that's another story. They're cool with it and actually gave me advice after having a rather lengthy discussion about a good few things and figuring out that I know something about what I'm doing. Kinda took a load off my mind not having to try and hide it. Albeit, not all doctors are going to be so understanding so you might have to do like @Meetketchup said and look around. It'll be worth it. Jmho.

Mine would not be ok with but i only see her 1x per year. Tough to find a good doctor near my area that is taking new patients. Current doctor is awesome i really cant complain but she is not into hormone treatment.

If I had a doctor and they were competent and I trusted them...eh, only if I thought it was completely necessary for some reason.

Otherwise, why bother. Let your friendly pharma rep offer you statins, vaccines, bp meds, etc. Just yawn and smile and move on with life.

A western medical dr is about the last person I'd trust to have my best interests in mind and with my general health. And how many of them are even going to remotely understand hormones? Now for certain necessary surgeries and trauma care, sure Western medicine all the way. Otherwise, why go near a dr or hospital.

I tell them im on TRT and nothing more. Whether or not your doctor is "cool" with it as some of you say. They will enter information into your medical records that reflect non prescribed AAS use that can and will affect Life, Disability, and other supplemental insurance. If you have an issue with your health and its pertinent for your doctor to know to treat you then absolutely tell them. If its just skewed numbers on bloodwork then fuck no im not telling them shit. The less personal shit the modern medical cartel knows about you the better.

Couldn’t have said it better myself

Just had my annual with my primary care last week. Yes, HDL was down from last year, as expected due to recent cycle.

Comments were 'you are healthy", "tendonitis takes longer to if heal lifting weights", "guidelines require me to recommend statins, but its your decision", "see you next year."

If she wanted to know more, she would have asked. She's not blind or unsophisticated staring at dude in his 60's with 12% body fat and looking nothing like the other gentlemen in the waiting room.

I don’t even think they are paying attention. if you say you’re on gear it’s gets added to your chart and then your insurance company who already wants you to die gets a green light to never cover any of your future complications (related or unrelated) because you’re using drugs. <——-not sure if true

So I would like to chime in on this I end up having congestive heart failure at the end of the day it was caused by covid infection that hit my heart and did not heal after but I honestly thought it was from steroids so I was honest one of the many doctors I dealt with kept wanting to say I was on cocaine and an alcoholic they even ran a surprise drug test on me without my knowledge and I came back all clean then they ran a total testosterone test on me and my numbers were actually normal because I was only on trt at the time

The fight between me and the one doctor got so bad because he was telling me I was a drug addict they end up having to give me a new doctor

I’ve always worried that if I told my doctor then it would get passed onto my insurance and they could deny future claims based on it. Is there any truth to this or is it not a concern?
I don't know for sure. I can tell you 'doctors notes' blackballed my daughter 10 years ago after she got a severe concussion in a car wreck. They used all of it to throw her under the bus and deny her workers comp coverage and end her case (it happened during execution of her work duties). The system designed to help her failed her, and when her concussion specialist was called upon to give testimony on her behalf, he sided with the WC insurance company. Everyone got to wash there hands of her messy medical case, except the victim and her family.

Our pastor recommended a doctor, who turned out to be a rock star. About 4 years (!) later she turned the page on that ugly chapter of her life.

They add shit to your medical history and it shows up at times such as if you apply for life insurance. I had an insurance carrier want a HIV test because I had a prescription for TRT. The prescription was from a telehealth clinic and not my actual doctor.

Always be honest, some dr hook it up and help more then they probably should and some just give you a 30min lecture on why not too do it but either way they can better treat you and know what to look out for.

Absolutely there is truth to it. Dont let a single one of these ppl in this thread tell you any different. The ones saying theres no truth to it are the ones stupid enough that they already told their "cool" doctor they were blasting gear. If you were an insurance agency and you had a customer have a heart attack and their medical records showed extensive non prescribed AAS use, your job being solely FIND A REASON TO DENY as they do, would you deny that person? Yes. Never tell them shit unless your life or health is in serious risk. Its not worth dying to keep it a secret. But to just tell the doctor you are because they are "cool" with it is borderline retarded. Good luck getting life insurance ever, or health insurance privately, you better hope your job has a high PPO plan or youre fucked.

I've talked to my doctor about illegal drugs like cannabis & mushrooms. Got a scolding of them being laced with fentanyl

Since I'm on TRT, I don't think I can really talk about blasting UGL Test while I stock pile my prescriptions. I'd like to be "open" and get appropriate medication like the stuff I'm buying from India for HDL/LDL support and blood pressure precautions.

Threads like this are great to show you the other side of it. Regardless of whether you agree with that perspective or not.

I honestly would not have thought about potential impact on insurance claims down the road.

I need to find a new doctor but i intend to let them know about the TRT dosages, not much more.

That stuff is in there for good though (for the most part) once they dictate it into the records.

This would be a HIPAA violation and no doctors, especially PCPs, are working to collude with Insurance providers. Most doctors hate insurance carriers

Never tell your doctor the truth about AAS use. It will not help you and they will treat you negatively. They view steroids as a "Drug" rather then a hormone.

It is best simply to OMIT. I would never encourage lying but take the 5th. For good reason. 99% of doctors and endo's have zero clue what they are doing to begin with. If you tell them you are on steroids, 99% of them will "punish" you and mis treat you as result. Even with legit HRT if you are above 7-800 nanos they will seek to reduce your dose and keep you lower.

The vast majority of doctors have no clue how to dose or continue HRT dosages. And HCG is a joke. Most of them will tell you to take 5-10,000 iu at once. Trust me, I worked with these clowns and I have had an HRT script since I was 23. I am 48 now. 99% of these "doctors" were absolutely retarded. The bigger the degree the worse they are. The dumbest doctor I ever had, had a YALE doctorate. He was beyond useless. The medical field is basically modern day brainwashing. They will tell you Test is dangerous and the covid vax is perfectly safe at the same time.

When i was still natural Dr would ask if i was on gear, and didn't belive me when i said no. A group of medical students that were training with a Dr all started laughing when i said no one time that i didn't use gear. Once i started using anabolics they quit asking. They are going to believe what they want.
The way i see it if i need to tell them i am on gear then i am not doing it right. It should be obvious.

It absolutely is NOT a hipaa violation because you give the insurance providers access to your medical records. ANY health or life insurance enrollment will include a release of medical records. Hence there needing to be laws in place to keep them from denying some ppl for preexisting conditions. They know of them how? Lol you release the records to them bro.

The insurance company knows EVERYTHING that happens to you. They are required to read your medical records to approve or deny procedures. You can ask you insurance provider for a record of any and everything they pay for and they will have a list of your medical needs, drugs and procedures. You sign away hippa rights to the ins companies, its the only way they will insure you.
