This is just my personal opinion, but I feel bodybuilding is one of the few things almost anyone can do. There’s obviously a lot that goes into it—genetics, work ethic, diet, consistency, recovery, and for some people, PEDs.
It’s easy, but it’s also hard.
The biggest reason people struggle, in my opinion, is that they either don’t push toward their genetic potential or they jump the gun and look for shortcuts before they’ve built the foundation.
To get results, you have to adapt.
Train insane or remain the same.
Your brain is going to tell you it hurts. You have to learn when to push through discomfort and when to actually listen to your body. You have to eat when you’d rather go to bed, stay hydrated even when you’re tired of constantly running to the bathroom, get your sleep, avoid drinking, work around injuries, and keep showing up when motivation isn't there.
Bodybuilding is something you can’t buy. It has to be earned.
I’ve only been seriously bodybuilding for about 18 months, but I still get asked what the “secret” is. Honestly, I think it comes down to one word: adaptation.
Are you eating enough?
Are you training hard enough?
Are you recovering enough?
Are you actually sleeping?
Are you being honest with yourself about your progress?
Too many people say they can’t gain weight while not eating enough, or they jump on more gear while neglecting their diet, training, recovery, or labs.
Always strive to be better than you were yesterday.
What bothers you the most when it comes to bodybuilding?
