I also this 90% of people who think they recomped (or added tissue in a diet) were just fat and don’t realize how much being mean makes you look bigger.
I just find it funny how people think it's easy, anyone can do and happens all the time. If that were the case, there would never be a need to bulk or cut because you could just be in a sustained muscle gain/fat loss recomp. lol

I'm speaking in generalities of what I'm seeing in the industry and clients. There is a World outside of this thread. :)

I "recomped" from ~265 to 235 a couple years ago at 50 years young (aka got my fat ass back in shape). What worked for me is volume training 3-4x week and 1 hr of cardio as a form of active recovery when every fucking body part was hurting. The cardio is low intensity walking 3 miles once a week on a scenic outdoor trail so it doesn't feel like cardio. This covers 2 out of the 4 foundational pillars: recovery and stress management.

Here, yeah. However I think what @Meetketchup is saying is the general population. For example almost every new user that makes a first post looking for help always has these super unrealistic goals where they’re fat as hell and wants to lose it but also simultaneously put in 15lbs of muscle, most the time on trt or a super mild cycle. They’ll be like 25-30% bf bodyfat at 215lbs then have some arbitrary goal of 200lbs at 10% by the end of their sub 500mg cycle 😆

This is what I'm saying. You were more likely to recomp because you were inactive or out of shape. Hence similar to newbie gains.

No reason to focus on trying to hit a recomp.. It's such a narrow window to hit Just train hard/right, groups 2x a week, eat good macros, be in a 500c deficit, get your steps/cardio in, and blast a cycle. There are plenty of studies showing people being able to build muscle and lose body fat if they aren't advanced bodybuilders.

Your E2 was a bit high on test only, but I'd be concerned about crashing your estrogen on 160/400 Test/Primo. Usually people run it at 5:4 or 3:2 type ratios. If you're cruising I'd take your Primo down to 100-150. When you're ready to run a cycle you could probably do a relatively long 20wk cycle of 400 sust/300 Primo. That'll be 40% more than your previous cycle and give you some room if you wanted to bupm to 500/400 or 600/500 if your labs are fine and you're feeling good.

Keep the Reta. If you can afford it, bump the growth up

I am cruising. I did bring the primo down, running (175/140)test/primo. Also I donated blood on 11/29.
I’ll stay on this until after the first the year,then see where I’m at.

Anxiety hit me pretty good yesterday so I’m sure it was from running 160/400 test/primo or bumping the Reta to 3mg.
BP has been good 125/77.
Been been around 1900 to 2000 calories a day.

Man, pretty much the basics. Chicken, fish, beef for the meats, lots of rice, fruits, vegetables. Greek yogurt, overnight oats, and supplementing in protein shakes, which I do a lot of because this Reta kills my appetite.

Depending on how the rest of bloodwork looks I’m thinking of running 400/300 test primo for 20 weeks. Only issue I saw with bloodwork was cholesterol, I’ve already been taking fish oil @ 3000mg daily. Maybe need to hit the cardio harder.

My first question would have been if he is really willing to finally drop all the partying. Not some of it. ALL of it. Otherwise it’s a huge waste of his time and everyone else’s that are giving him advice. Stay on track OP. I see guys all the time training thier balls off during the week and then partying all weekend. They never make any gains. None. They either stay fat or they stay looking like a skinny weakling.

Totally agree. I appear bigger at a lean 190 than I do at a fat 210. It’s not even close. I mean maybe not in person but on video or pics absolutely.

So I haven’t drank in about a year. I’m 32 years old and have a wife and kids. It was time for me to make a change. Didn’t like the man I was looking at in the mirror. I appreciate the words of encouragement though.

Man I always wanted to be over 6’0” cause when I was a kid that to me was tall and I thought if you were tall then you automatically had a big wiener. Bad intel for sure. Lol
