Nothing. This claim is just an attempt by flat earthers to make themselves feel special like they are the most intelligent beings that have found something. Flat earthers, creationists and the Apollo moon landing hoax people are the epitome of the Dunning-Kruger effect.

None of the flat-earthers has gotten “testy”. Quote one instance of that. It’s you “believe what you read” guys that get pissy. You guys lose your shit and have to take a break.

I don’t believe I’m more intelligent than anyone else. I don’t understand why you feel the need to condescendingly judge someone else.

I just think it’s fun to look at things a little differently. This entire thread is supposed to be fun but you and a couple other guys take it so seriously. You name-call and are flat out disrespectful. Did it make you feel better to call us childish? Did it? Big tough grownup smart guy that believes everything he’s told. It seems like a mean-spirited and miserable existence.

And it’s ironic that you try to project the Dunning-Kruger effect. It’s defined as “a cognitive bias in which people with limited competence in a particular domain overestimate their abilities.”

I can understand why people like to conform. That’s easy. You feel like you’re on the right side. You can sit there behind your keyboard and easily google accepted beliefs and laugh and make fun of the people that question. I can see that being very comforting.

But looking at things from an alternative perspective and asking “what if” is a lot more fun and interesting.

I've heard people say "my Bible says "He compasseth the day from the night" indicating that the earth is a sphere (round). All this proves is that one can support virtually any statement imaginable from Scripture. Precisely the opposite viewpoint is expressed by the reference to the "four corners of the earth," and by the parable of Jesus being shown "all the kingdoms of the earth" from the top of a mountain -- clearly impossible for a sphere, but reasonable for a flat surface. See how easy it is? One can play dueling Scriptures all day, and settle nothing.

The highest points on earth (land) are Everest and K2 at over 29k.

So are you implying Jesus stood atop of them and saw the entire earth?

Because there are cameras now that disprove that malarkey, but they do show it’s a sphere.

The phrase "four corners of the earth" appears in the Bible in Revelation 7:1 and Isaiah 11:12.

Matthew 4:8 "Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor."

"The wind goeth toward the south, and compasseth toward the north: the wind goeth rounde about, and returneth by his circuits" is a line from Ecclesiastes 1:6 in the King James Version of the Bible (This may or may not be exactly what I'm looking for but I'm not particularly motivated to invest any more time searching for it).

Why not? It's a suitably response to people who repeatedly vent their ignorance with arrogant confidence. Even worse is the fact that they willfully choose to remain ignorant. We're talking about people who actually profess to believe that the earth is flat after all. When you provide sources that can answer their questions they refuse to even look at them and just continue to spout the same gibberish.

And you've come to that conclusion from some semi-trolling responses to cranks (or trolls) who believe that the earth is flat? Admittedly my sense of humor can be a bit off beat and sarcastic, tone and intent doesn't always come off as intended in online posts and for the most part I'm just killing time and fucking around. However we are talking about people who have a seriously altered view of reality (if they actually believe what they claim that they do).

How else should one respond to this lunacy? No less on a forum that has a warning that states "Do not enter this forum if you get offended easily, just about anything is allowed in here and there is very little moderation! All hate, trash talking, flame wars, adult material, etc., is allowed in here." It's not like I'm intruding on a religious forum and ridiculing their beliefs. If someone is going to post that they believe that the earth is flat, the center of the universe, 5,000 years old, they believe in leprechauns, etc. they can't be terribly surprised if they receive ridicule in response.

1.) do you believe there have been advanced civilizations at much earlier points in the earths history than as the general consensus of mainstream historians/archaeologists and the like….perhaps even as far back as 20,000 years ago? I’m talking the Stone Age here….

2.) do you think ancient civilizations that (according to main stream archealogy should not have been in contact with each other) could have almost exact origin and flood stories?

We are going through the Taurid meteor stream now until early November…. It’s only a matter of time before the book of revelation comes true… there is a verse in that book that perfectly depicts the view from earth as a comet smasheth into it-ith…
