Yes, it’s pretty old though and he’s back looking like he originally did.

Thor looked like someone who has his resources should look, idk if it’s impressive when it was expected. I’m more disappointed with Eddie than impressed by Thor.

Thor is a genetic outlier. He was recruited by 4 times worlds strongest man Magnús Ver Magnússon who saw his potential as a teenager. Combine pharm peds with world class training and genetics for 10+ years and you get a once in a lifetime athlete like thor

Crazy transformation. Dropping that much weight while keeping size is insane discipline. Respect.

Many don't do well in all honesty. Like apples and oranges.
Yeah I agree. BBers have had the diet side locked in for decades. Only recently you’re seeing SM/PL guys finally start taking that same BB nutrition knowledge and actually applying it. Still though, when you compete you want a little bloat/water retention helps you stay fuller tighter and stronger on the platform so you won't find many competing sub 14% mostly 15-18%. 10 years ago that was 18-20+%

100%

All respect to real powerlifters who embrace the lifestyle and put in the work. Seeing some of the numbers being out up nowadays is just insane and even for nattys. It's just such as mindset change going from one to the other. Many people think they complement each other and are interchangeable when it's really not the case. You train for what you want to be good at.

I kinda dabble in BBing and PLing so maybe that’s why I suck at both of them. I need to prioritize and just focus on one.

Theres another World Strongest Man competitor, I used to work for WSM and I was his judge many a times. He was very overweight and out of shape, but strong. Now he is super lean also and helping others.

HIs transformation is even more dramatic then Thors. His name is Terry Hollands from the UK if you search him out.

Out of all the WSM guys I worked with Mariusz Pudzianowski and Derek Poundstone, my old training partner were hands down the most impressive. Their pound for pound strength was insane.

Out of all the guys I worked with Brian Shaw went from smallest to biggest. When I first met him he was like 315. A few years later he was 450+

Gerard Benderoth was the widest. He was 5'10" and 420-450lbs. Calves were so big he had to wear shorts all year.

Big Tom McCLure was the absolute most massive of all. If you think Thor or Brian were big, Tom was massive and lean. His forearms were the size of my quads. I've never seen anything like it when he was his largest.

Everyone of them is a big teddy bear. Mariusz, he can be kinda an a$$ but he calmed down alot these days. He's cool now.

I do think that’s why historically when I would go out of town to a gym where nobody knew me and Id do heavy bench or something a lot of guys would either chuckle( like yeah right) or run over and offer a really concerned spot. Then after I’d do a set some of the bigger guys would grumble and leave. I use to get a kick out of it cause Ive always been freakishly strong but never really looked the part so it definitely fucked with some people’s heads. Lol

Yeah, Thor's transformation is insane. Going from lean to powerlifter and back is next level.

A rare Tom McClure mention.... that dude was an absolute house, it's a shame he didn't advance further in his strongman career.

Not to hijack the thread but I will tell you a funny story, afterall its a discussion board LOL. One day Derek Poundstone, Tom McClure, Iron Mike and I were traveling in a car to NY to a contest. This had to be 2007-2010. We were all heavily competing and beyond jacked and strong at that time. Anyways a car with two guys cuts us off for no reason and starts attempting to hit our car. I'm thinking to myself, you couldn't pick a worse vehicle full of men to mess with on Earth on that given day. Tom alone was prob what 6'3 and like 365lbs at that time lean.

God has a sense of humor. Derek and Tom who are big teddy bears were like what do we do? Derek was a cop so he was calm and was like lets just ignore it. The car keeps messing with us and at the next exit we get off. They zoom in front of us and the passenger gets out and starts heading back to our car. Mind you we did nothing wrong.
In my mind I was like "OMG yes!" I wanted to see Karma in real time. So Big Tom literally just opens his door and stands up outside the car.

LMFAO. You have never seen another man stop dead in his tracks in fear and turn and sprint back and peel out through the intersection. We were dying laughing. The guy prob was 5'10 and 175lbs.

I guarantee he never ever ever ever tried that on anyone ever again. hahaha, true story.

He just pulled the biggest DL in history of Strongman (then went on to win the entire contest)... Yup, he needs the weight...
Probably the most impressive feat in strength history.
How much did he lift, did I miss it, or was this the 1,100 ish lift? I have been outta the loop.

:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: that is amazing! Seriously though messing with that car at that moment would be like winning (or losing) the bad luck lottery..

That video though! Never actually seen a stone load for max height before haha amazing. Also amazing to see how far the sport has come since that era

It's crazy how much these guys can change their bodies. Shows how much dedication and hard work goes into it! 💪
