Hey everyone,

Looking for some input on my upcoming 12-week cycle. My goal is strength and endurance gains with minimal mass increase. Want to keep it simple as it’s been awhile since I’ve pinned, but I’m addressing a low test reading from December (~400 total test via Labcorp) along with an endurance-focused event I’m training for in late May.

Some context behind that reading:
  • Age: 31
  • Height/Weight: 5”10’, 190 lbs (~18% BF)
  • Training: 10+ years lifting
  • LIFE: between wedding planning, house hunting, and working A TON OF OT, life’s stressors have knocked me down a notch. I’m easily down 10lbs in muscle from this time last year. My fiance has decided to force me BACK into my previous alpha male state by signing me up for a HYROX event in May.

What’s HYROX you ask? An endurance masochist’s wet dream - where you run a total of 8 km, but every 1 km, they make you stop and do something awful like sled pushes, burpee broad jumps, or farmer’s carries just to make sure you’re properly suffering. To make it worse our other newly-wed friends are doing it so it’s become some kind of F-ed up competition reality show.

I was playing with the idea of TRT before this event, but now I’m like well F these guys…I have experience in matters concerning peak physical form. I can do this and DO IT RIGHT!

Current Approach:

Retatrutide: Been using for 4 weeks to cut to ~15% BF before start.

Cycle:
  • Test-E: 350mg/week
  • Anavar: (Considering Tbol/winny instead?) 25mg daily/last 8 weeks
  • HCG: on/post cycle
  • PCT: enclomiphene + Nolva
Diet: luckily my fiance is a health nut and cooks with goals in mind (hence the ring I put on her finger!).

Questions for the Forum:

1. Is my stack effective for endurance and strength with minimal mass gain? Again, I would really like to keep the stack basic. I’m not sure how my body will react to multiple substances.

2. Would Tbol/winny be a better option than Anavar for endurance + strength? I’m also considering joint health.

3. Since my fiance wants kids immediately (tack that onto the list of life stressors) do I need to consider HMG even though plans to conceive are at the earliest in December? (Cycle ends May)

Note: getting full blood test next week prior to start. By then I expect to be closer to 15% bf.

Appreciate any insights, especially from those who have run cycles with similar goals. Thanks in advance!

Steroids aren't very effective for building endurance, at least in my experience. I would stick a replacement dose of testosterone and spend the rest of your time and money on things that will increase your endurance. Anavar gave me terrible pumps and shin splints. I've never tried tbol, if you try any of those orals, you will want to keep it a really low dose...like 5-10mg.

Appreciate this. Yes, thinking of scrapping var all together considering the goal here. Will need to dig deeper on tbol.

Tbol was literally made to help the Germans cheat at sports. I don’t have a lot of experience with it, but maybe some Tbol with TRT levels of test? I’d add in mast just because I like it but probably won’t do anything for what you want.

Turinabol was used by the Germans in the Olympics before WW2 and it gave their athletes a big advantage. It's supposed to increase endurance and strength with less hypertrophy than other steroids. From all reports it's a good option for athletic performance. It's fairly popular among crossfitters for that reason.

Thanks for this. Just dawning on me that I'm basically a crossfitter now. Lord help me.
