Are sources verified as legit before being allowed into ASF or do they just pay the administration to be sponsored then the people figure it out themselves? My fault if this is a dumb question just have seen a lot of new interesting sources recently. Does ASF take accountability for allowing scammers onto the forums?

1st..Not a dumb question..2nd.. No its not on ASF to vet these sources. Site is a business and needs money which they make by displaying advertising. So if a source pays their rent they stay. If they do get caught openly scamming theyre booted. Ive seen it happen before. But the administration holds no responsibility for vetting anybody. Which is why the forum has numerous sub forums for you and others to leave reviews and opinions, and they allow you to display testing.

The best analogy I use is ASF is like the fairgrounds. Vendors pay to come sell hotdogs. The fairgrounds has no dealing in how good the hotdogs are. We, the consumers, spread the word who gots the good dogs. If their hotdogs suck, no one buys, they lose money and then they leave. Like @Hablooblah said, if a vendor is caught openly scamming, you out of the fairgrounds. This has happened a few times in the past. They will kick them out.

Hopefully you can see by the analogy that it's not the fairgrounds responsibility to be accountable if Vendor X has terrible chili or not. The same goes for ASF.

Not a dumb question at all. It’s a fair concern, especially with so many new sources popping up. Sponsorship doesn’t necessarily mean a source has been independently verified, so I’d always recommend doing your own research, checking independent results, batch testing, and customer feedback. At the end of the day, trust is earned through transparency and consistency. That said, have a look at Zyvex as well. Worth checking out and making your own assessment.

Love the hotdog analogy.

I would say to do as Nood said and do your research. Check how long the source you’re looking at has been around and whether their reports come from multiple members. Ask questions in the open rather than in DMs and checkout sponsored logs.

All the reps usually interact on the boards which is cool, but It's kinda frowned upon for reps to promote outside of your subforum. Members really need a unbiased area for sponsor discussions which is the purpose of this Source Checking board. If all the reps did it, all the boards just become one big advertisement.
