Becoming the Iron Lion

Legs y'day, nothing exciting.

Push today, nothing exciting.

Just kinda felt blah the last 2 sessions. Dunno if it's from whatever little sinus thing I've got or the heat.

I'm almost back to eating the full load I was before the stomach virus and the weight has just stuck at 240-243. I'm much tighter though which is great lol.

243 this morning

Dunno why the weight is being stubborn but, I ate my face off y'day and didn't see an increase at all.

I'm pooping 3-4 times a day so, I'm definitely getting enough food, it just seems like I'm churning through the calories and not filling up at all. Very flat here in these pics which are post pull training.

Sooooo, and I decided fuck it, put in 5 units of Humalog post training with my meal. Will do this for a few days post workout and see what happens.

Oh shit, it's been a week lol.

Was not a good week by any means. Diet was shit and training suffered in return.

I basically ate whatever I felt like eating the last 5 days or so. Missed some meals, ate some junk, just didn't care.

Not sure what came over me but, I feel like hammered damnit after being off plan so, it's back to normal.

If you don't mind me asking what is your profession ethier than being a damn good coach ? I just ask because your always working insane hours and still getting it done ✅ definitely gives me motivation

Let’s go bro! Get your shit together 😉

I can't say.

It's nothing luxurious but I'd rather not mention it.

Let's just say federally involved transportation.

Yeah no shit lol.

It's very unlike me to go off the rails, has happened twice since 2014 when I started taking things serious.

I don't have a healthy relationship with food so, unless it's a vacation and I plan on resetting and not dieting, I won't allow myself to do this but, for whatever reason, it did this last week lol.

Yeah we all stumble once in a while.. getting back on track can be difficult but after 2 solid weeks of sticking to the diet I’m usually all set..

I’m no where near as disciplined as you with my diet and training but reading what you’ve said since being sick, I can relate.

I got sick about 6 weeks ago and lost about 10lbs. I put the weight back on but I haven’t had a “good” training day do to lack of give a fuck since lol. My diet has also went to shit. I’m still struggling with some sort of sinus shit going on which gives me a headache constantly ect……still just not feeling good.

I was somewhat back on track this week but attribute that to starting Reta and wanting to do good while using it. I also wanted to get my meals back on track so I don’t lose any muscle because the Reta is def reta’ing lol.

Bouncing back from being sick can be tough.

Usually fake it till you make it works but, sometimes it just takes longer then wanted lol.

Legs today

Not bad. One thing about eating like a jackass is, the pumps are crazy for a while.

Keeping the intensity and volume down on legs has done wonderful things with my knees. I'm having little to no discomfort after training or the following day.

Just making sure I'm getting the most out of every single rep has been enough to keep them hanging on for the moment. I know that this will eventually not be enough but, until I feel like killing myself again it'll do.

5 working sets on glutes
4 sets of extensions
4 sets of hip press
4 sets of single leg hip hacks
4 sets of lying leg curls

Good pumps and my knees don't feel like they have glass in them so, successful day.

So, exciting news.

The gym I've been going to since my last prep opened a new location.

It's 7 miles from the house instead of 4 so still very close.

This gym has AC though, awesome during the summer, and it's FULLY loaded with new Arsenal equipment and a local brand that is a VERY good clone of the Nautilus Xplode series.

There's also a bunch of lifestyle pieces that feel amazing, sauna, locker room with showers, recovery room and a posing room.

It's a gym built by a bodybuilder for bodybuilders because there's literally everything you could want in there.

I touched every piece yesterday while I trained push and I'm beyond excited to run through the entire gym.

Y'day I trained with -

Life fitness pec deck -smoothest pec deck I've used

Arsenal incline press - pretty good, will be a bitch to unrack when I really push the weights here though

Arsenal standing vertical press - sooooo good. I don't think I've ever had a pump training chest after a couple sets on this piece

Arsenal Viking press -not something I'll use very often but it was pretty good.

Arsenal shoulder press - amazing but kinda narrow

Arsenal flat press - this has adjustable arms so I was able to bring them all the way in where they almost touched and press that way. I feel closer grips in chest more so this will get a lot of playtime.

Premier vertical press -feels just line the Nautilus but smoother. It does have the fat grip handles though which will be very hard to use with the wrist

Life fitness seated lateral raise - nothing fancy but smooth

Premier cable fly - kinda grindy? Might have been needing broke in

Life fitness flat press - mother fucker this bitch is heavy. There's a 300lb stack but, it's GOTTA be per side because I couldn't budge it and 135 felt like 270

The incline Xplode clone was the only machine I didn't use I think. Needed to save something for next time

I'll train pull tomorrow which is what I'm most excited about.

Nautilus pull-down and low row

Arsenal chest supported iso row, pullover machine, pull-down, t bar platform and a mid row with d handles.

I've used most of this equipment a time or two but, none of them have ever been available for regular use so I'm beyond pumped to get after them.

So in closing, suck it peasants

I’m very jealous. I’ll still be in my 1500 sq foot gym with 8 pieces of equipment 🤣

Time to pack up the rugrat and start taking her to the big gym

Funny story -

My daughter's fiance gets a free membership at a local gym they never use. She started going to the gym for an hour to have someone else watch the grandson for a little bit

Pull day.

This new gym is excellent. Awesome session today, just gotta dial in the sets, weights and exercise order.

Xplode pull-down - 3 sets
Arsenal mid row (mid back) - 3 sets
Arsenal multi grip row (upper back) - 3 sets
Xplode low row (lats) - 3 sets
Arsenal pullover - 2 sets

Did a little bit of biceps in-between.

Through all my years of bodybuilding I've never used a posing room. I've set up rinky dink mirrors to try and see my back but never in the "proper" position. So, first time I've gotten pics where I can actually see what's going on lol.

I'm fat but, my back has definitely gotten better since my last show. Traps look striated but, that's actually just bound up tissue that needs to be worked through, didn't realize it was so bad. Better then I envisioned, not good enough though.

Sounds sick man I’m very jealous

Didn't train for a couple days.

2 days ago at work my left knee got pissed off. Was the worst pain I've had in over a year and it was just from a little bit of a short jog/run.

Before my wrist fusion, my knee was completely fucked to the point where everyday walking was extremely painful. Being off work for those 6 months or whatever it was helped and the pain went away but, the first time I did what I was doing before I was out, it went right back, and maybe even worse, then before.

So I didn't train Saturday or Sunday, knee felt better today, so I trained legs and it was decent. The weakness in the joint is there, I'm guessing it's inflamed pretty bad, but very minimal pain. Didn't go crazy, just burn and blood.

Extensions - 6 sets to failure (all sets were 12-15 rep range during the entire session but one)
Single leg hip press - 4 sets to failure 12-15
Smith lunge - 2 sets to failure
Hip hack - 2 sets to failure
Extension - 1 muscle round

I need to go see an Ortho and see if they can remove those bone spurs in there. If not, I don't know that I can make it twenty more years out at work lol.

Legs aren't completely shit yet either so that's cool.

Don't look too bad for a shitty retired bodybuilder who is only training when it's convenient.

Weight hovering around 250 still.

Push at the new gym was good.

Life fitness pec deck
Incline Xplode press
Arsenal Standing vertical press
Arsenal Seated vertical press
Arsenal incline press

Some machine laterals, DB laterals, arsenal shoulder press and triceps thrown in between main sets.

Pull day.

Tried this arsenal plate loaded pull-down. So good lol. Heavy but good.

Arsenal multi grip row

Xplode low row (pronated grip)

Arsenal mid row (between pronated and neutral grip)

Arsenal pullover

Life fitness rear delt upper back row

Biceps mixed in there as well.

Just crushing the back with the new equipment. You don't NEED nice equipment to get results but, if you have equipment that fits and moves really well, it sure fucking helps lol.

Haven't trained a lot. Just enough to not suck yet.

Push today, went well. Lack of training lately has helped with some fatigue but, it's just a matter of time until I start going backwards. The bright side, when I do train the pumps are crazy.

Was 252 this morning.
