Pete Hegseth

He's a clown. Left/Right it doesn't matter. Washington will eat you up and consume you. No change is in sight despite we Hegseth or anyone says. Just empty words.

The physicals will be a joke and just eye candy to make the "'Merica" crowd a happy for 5 seconds.

Got to start somewhere if you do indeed want to make a change.

It's a good start. we want merit not diversity.

I Personally think it does matter. but thats my opinion of course biden really fucked things up in 4 years and had all the democrats supporting him just looking at inflation it went up at a alarming rate not a steady climb like it has been since 1970... it was even slower before that. we could try to blame it on covid but we shouldn't have shut the country down like we did and he kept it going for way to long.

we also didn't see biden stopping any wars... if anything he encouraged them and gave Israel just enough to keep loosing.

Did you serve? Your resume must be really stellar to call him a clown. He's already implemented policies that have made a change. Possibly you're blinded by your hate for the America loving crowd.
Hegseth has an impressive resume, deployed 3 times, wether just wars or not, he volunteered and went, graduated from Princeton, a Masters from Harvard, a bunch of advocacy work for vets, successful author and tv host. Now the Secretary of Defense/War.

I have 17 years of service. Hegseth’s military resume is embarrassing. The highest leadership position he held in the military was as a O-1 platoon leader.

He did so badly as a platoon leader that during his first deployment they took his platoon away and made him a staff officer in a public affairs office.

He never held a command or leadership position after that. He was relegated to staff duty for the rest of his career. And despite not having the command/leadership experience that would merit a promotion, he was still somehow promoted to Major. Which is when he was kicked out. Because his peers disliked him so much that they ratted on him.

He has no qualifications to be SecDef, and is the embodiment of merit-less promotion

17 years at the post Office? Your opinion on anything is laughable, you're a troon loving libtard.

You must be young. I tried two decades of hard politics to change local, State and Federal levels. It's always the same outcome as corruption in Government is inherent and it's beyond fixing. 40 trillion in Debt with between 125-150 trillion in unfunded liabilities. It can't continue. Until the financial situation (Federal Reserve is abolished) everything is window dressing.

Anyone who served knows from experience, leadership that is either a careerist or “all about the troops”.
Hegseth falls into the latter category from the wsy he sounds.

I saw a masive shift from most being the latter to the former in my years between 1983 and 2011. It was disgusting. What I saw in the years since was overwhelmingly more about careers than the actual function and capabilities of our military.
The demoralizing began in the Clinton era and just got worse, the last four being the worst I think you could possibly take it.
But this is my view from the outside. My guess is it felt even worse for those serving trying to do so with pride and professionalism. My last years and deployments were insufferable mostly because of my having to fight the careerists, checking their boxes and appeasing anyone above them so as to get up to the next rung on the ladder.
There I was, a virtual pariah, trying to advance my sailors and their careers, all the while, my being consumed with their welfare.

If Hegseth has done one thing, it has been to start the ball rolling to instill pride again in the military.
You know how 10% of the people do 90% of the work? Those 10% feel like a lifeline has been tossed to them just as they were about to go nose under in the extreme liberal quicksand.

So to my original point, YOU HAVE TO START SOMEWHERE. Doing something if a far better reaction to just giving up and doing nothing.
Whats wrong with him implementing and enforcing grooming and PT standards?

I see so many posts similar to yours of people that are sick and tired of the bs they have experienced in previous years/decades. and rightfully so! but being mad and saying "nothings going to change" literally yields ZERO results.
so, just give up?

Personally I'd rather see something being done even if its a fraction of a fraction.

It’s like if the Chief Engineer of Vehicle Design at Dodge came over to your house and personally changed out the exhaust in your personally owned Dodge Caravan so that it got 10 more horsepower. You’d be kinda worried how he has time to go around changing people’s exhausts when he’s supposed to engineers whole ass cars, right?

The SecDef’s job is top-level strategy and planning. So you kinda start to worry about who’s doing all that when your SecDef is doing stuff like issuing memos about pt tests and grooming

I think thats a very obtuse way to look at it.

It is noticeable that some careers are encouraging environments of superiority, rather than welfare development and work satisfaction. I make this comment because I’ve noticed since I was 18 (first job) to now (30). Looking out for the well-being of others isn’t as “popular.” Yeah. Thanks for reminding me of this.

It’s never acceptable in the military as far as I’m concerned.
My entire leadership style and goals were based upon empowering my sailors to be the best they could be. My success was based on their successes and any kudos towards them from senior leadership I considered kudos for me. I still do things this way.
It was all but completely absent on my last deployments of 2007-08.

While training your sailors, what stood out to you about their work ethic and goal-setting? Did anything stand out? I ask because as I’m getting older, I’m getting harder on myself for goal setting.

I have ro think on this and reply. My experiences with training and leadership are very different.
I was an instructor at a Navy school. My previous references were to leadership roles.

I don’t agree at all.. he’s doing more in that position than anyone I’ve ever seen.. or at least trying to

Forgive me, but I think ending forever wars which has drained us to the tune of Trillions and Trillions over the last 2.5 decades, removing troops and foreign is a tad more important. Not to mention the terrible mental impacts on our soldiers with outlandish suicides.

EXACTLY

Hegseth isn't responsible for any "forever wars" or our national debt, it's ridiculous to try associate or blame him for any of that, you should read up on who funds our government. Once again he is a huge advocate for veterans, with a track record that's easily searchable. But I guess it's easy to grandstand on those issues, when you don't have a clue what you're talking about.

People can't admit that this administration hasn't started any wars, even though the MIC, European Union, Ukraine and Israel have tried their best to drag us into a hot war. Ukraine was getting billions in "free weapons", now they're paying for them and we own stake in their minerals. You would think the people "concerned" with national debt would appreciate this.

Peace through strength is real and you can't project that with lardasses, lowered standards and men in dresses. He's ending the demoralization campaign against our troops. He's one of the few appointments President Trump has made that's making a difference in my opinion.

The cop out "everything is window dressing until *this happens" is some lame defeatist bullshit, when you're just unhappy who's in charge. To eat an elephant you still do it one bite at a time.

fitness and maintaining basic standards doesnt cost the military a penny, I dont care what people do in the privacy of their bedrooms but when youre in uniform you should be focused on the job/task and all this other shit is a distraction, if people came to me with some bullshit I would assume they arent busy enough if they had time to worry about useless shit so they would get more work till the learned to shut up and work

Your blaming him for past wars? Seriously.. He’s just interested in getting our military back and get away from the political pandering bs..
