My wife will be 40 in a couple years. She is in good shape, not overweight and every time she goes to the Dr they tell her everything is within range. I would really like for her to get a comprehensive metabolic panel, hormone panel and anything else that would help. Does anyone have any recommendations or things that have helped them in the past?

She is always tired and has low libido. She takes a nap almost everyday as she is finished with work by 10:30 or 11:00.
Thanks in advance.

What type of doctor is treating your wife? Most general practitioners are totally inept when it comes to hormonal inbalances. If she isn't already seening one, tell her to go to a good endo.

Not that I am suggesting one but...there are "hormone coaches" that are light years ahead of these fucking physicians in this respect.

She is just going to a GP right now and they tell her everything looks fine and they won't order hormone panels for her.

She could also get a baseline panel using a lab ordering service like Ulta or PrivateMD. Would let her know if there's something off hormonally, at least at a blood level, and then she can decide if she wants to stay with a GP - who often don't understand any of this - or go to an endo (more knowledgable) or even go to an online hormone optimization provider (they tend to more permissive in prescribing, as that's part of how they make money... but you have to be careful to evaluate what they say critically, as they'll often say what gets you to buy more meds). And she can do that while keeping her GP but keeping the two separate, if that makes sense.

My wife does her own testing to get a handle on how things are moving, especially when she's between appointments with her (predictably useless) hormone optimization physician and has been taking some elements of dosing more into her own hands (with some coaching/oversight).

Symptom management is the goal, while bloods are useful to make sure nothing goes haywire. But when you're starting, a comprehensive panel for a baseline is really useful.

Good luck!

Red flag!
GP’s and the vast majority of Endocrinologists are clueless. Get her with a TRT clinic, or functional medicine Dr. As other have said you can also use Ulta, Merick Health or others and pull panel. We use Defy and have had success. My wife was bottom or non-detectable on all hormones after Chemotherapy. That was almost four years ago, she suffered for a year, then we got her with hormone Dr., night and day difference. Its like she’s 18 now, and she is 49.

Most endos are just as fuckied up as GPs are. Of the 2 I've seen one recommended I sleep more to increase my test from 120, the second ignored my 90 test levels and is hyper focused on my 19ng/dl prolactin levels and told me she will not do anything with my test levels until we get the prolactin problem resolved. Its like they want us to be deficient.

Did you resolve prolactin problems? I’ve been fighting it for a while with no known cause
