No, I’ve done the math on your island video, you’d be able to see about 480ft of the island from that distance, which is what you see. You can’t see the waves crash into the shoreline because that is obscured by the horizon due to the curvature of the earth.

You don’t understand the aspect of horizon, is really the issue. The Nikon test does not show the shoreline, because you can only see 480ft of the island.

At 50,000 fr you would see 273 miles of horizon.
