Gym memberships, how much are we paying?

SB Labs
Go to a regional type powerhouse that has 3 locations all within 15 minutes of me. 35 a month and 24/7 access. I switch up locations depending on what I’m hitting as all of the locations have different machines.

I was the biggest guy at PF this last weekend out of town and I’m not even big 😂 couple very lean guys stood out other than that it was dad bod central in muscle ts. At least there was some sexy chicks. PF is nothing more than a back burner travel gym imo. I really care about the equipment, you can make gains pretty much with barbells, dumbbells and other simple old school equipment, but there’s some nice pieces of equipment out there that just “feel right” every time. When I find that mind muscle connection on whatever piece of equipment I spam it.
I agree and if you have back injury’s they are alternatives to the preferred movements.

That’s going to set you back if your not healed up.

I think mine is like 30 a month.
I still to this day have never stepped foot in a PF. The 10 dollars a month is tempting. I thought one day I would just go see what they actually have to work with but I haven't done it yet.

I think someone else said it, you don't need a ton to get your work in. I remember seeing Shaw and Hall in a video in a PF and it seemed like at least some of the machines were ok. They would have to have a decent amount of free weights.

Saw someone else mention Powerhouse. That used to be the preferred cop workout spot in my area till they closed. Now half of those guys go to my gym and the other to LA Fitness.

Question for all. Is it me or do county cops in general tend to use more gear vs city cops and state cops? Where I'm at the biggest mofos are always county, well that and a lot of correctional officers are BBs in their spare time.
I would say correction officers from state, then patrol and city.

Leaving my small gym and going back to a new PF. It’s just too overcrowded. I originally left PF because the dumbbells stopped at 55, but I’m primarily pressing on a smith machine now anyway.

I like lots of hammer strength equipment. I used to have a really hardcore gym near me but it didn't get enough biz. Place had a ton of free weights and hammer strength. Nothing really flashy at all though. You could have had all ASFers in there. There were few women and the ones that were there were pretty damn big.
i like hammer strength also.

Ok, fuck you.

Not a helpful response:
My company pays for our gym memberships at Crunch. Usually about $35/month for the "peak results" package. It's like one step above PF, but still good people watching.

$10 mo PF cuz its $10 a month and its good to have options
$29 mo Metroflex cuz ACTUAL 24hr access and equip you just done see anywhere else

A dumb fuck many of us have the misfortune of coming across often says if you work a physically demanding job, just try to do less physically demanding work at your job.
This will help you if you want to gain weight and most importantly, you will then have extra energy for the gym!

Im a member of a local gym thats now 40/month and very worth it. Lots of rogue cages, can do banded lifts and at least 15 spots for squats. Olympic and deadlifting platforms with boxes. Reverse hyper, belt squats, a few Hammer strength and cardio equipment. Specialty bars, strongman equipment, tires, hammers, dumbbells go to 200lbs and we also have 100lb plates.

Negative. a small local gym
Just guessing cause they all in my state charge the 30bucks.

One of them is a high profile gym where pros train. About 30mins from me.

The other 2mins from me is a shit hole dumbbells only go to 60lbs. No typo.

The equipment is shit. But 50 fucken state of the art treadmills.

I don’t know why they want to be under the power house name.

I found a similar gym but cost 50month. Owned by a young body builder. The gym is a gym.

Caters to body builders and power lifters and boxing athlete's

Haha why you say that? Smith machine is the best for pressing due to stability and ability to safely go to failure. Pretty much any machine is better than free weights.
Honestly both have advantages cause we all have different needs to work around injury’s and nerve condtions.

If your in one pice and that’s a hard thing to do when your lifting heavy weights to failure or beyond with negatives if you have a training buddy free weights are definitely build the foundation quicker.

But in the real world you’re going to get injured or have a high speed bike accident icu. Nerve damage or even just a bad injury hammer strength machines are great. The leg press machines they have is a good alternative to squats.

The shoulder press another iso lateral machine that’s great.

I do like dumbbell presses to failure and then drop sets all to failure.

I usefully do three warm up sets the 2 feeler sets. Then I do 2 sets to failure on the first exercise which is dumbbell press.

That’s just me but with injury’s and my back and groin injury I tend to use hammer strength equipment which I love. I have heard others mention different company’s machines and hope they get some but the gym I now go to is a body builder gym and monsters train there and I love it. It pushes you harder and makes you get better results.

Besides the only person you’re competing with is your self.

The gyms are 24/7 most of them. People making excuses to not train.

You can always find a way to work out.

Bro I agree with you 100 percent to many fucken excuses.

I regret what ever we fought about cause your a good dude.

I can’t remember what it was. The problem is we both have the same mental mentality and aren’t going to all put up with each other until the problem is done.

New local gym owned by an ifbb pro and her husband also a BBer is ready to open up. Jumped on their stater deal @45 a month then it goes up after the 1st few hundred sign ups. Also got 2 other memberships at my current gym @35 and good old planet fitness that I always keep around for when I travel as there is always one wherever I go @25 I believe. So I’m at over @100 a month on gym memberships currently. How much are y’all paying? Simply wondering average gym membership cost around the country.
I train at a gym called America Gym in Chicago area…75 a month and it’s legit the best equipment I’ve ever seen. Well worth every penny

I keep a LA Fitness membership at pay 29.99 a month there. I’ll use that for cardio since America 🇺🇸 Gym doesn’t have much
