Gym memberships, how much are we paying?

SB Labs
I used to think my 1K mortgage was a lot back many years ago. Now little shitty apartments are 2K per month.
Paid my house off over a decade ago and own cars outright as well... No debt is nice...
I’m trying to get there. Prolly die first. I gotta figure out how to get the kids off to a better faster start so they don’t have to play these debt games like I’ve played all my life.

I hate being financially illiterate…… or poor. Whatever you call it.

It’s insane. I really do feel sorry for my kids generation. For most of those kids there is no American “pie” left to have.

They say money doesn't buy happiness...

I have 4 gyms I rotate in and out, don't keep all of the memberships rolling year round.. usually 2 of them at once with the cheapest being 30, and the nicest being an all Arsenal gym that is immaculate and very bodybuilding / powerlifting centric which costs 80 a month. This may seem like a lot, but its my main hobby and if I have to pay what winds up being a few bucks a day to have a nice quiet workout with top notch equipment.. its well worth

We all do. But when you do break out and figure a way you did it by your self and no one handed it to you.

Which makes your life better then a bunch of academic jerk offs.

40$ but with wife $80. Powerhouse. I like it nobody really is ever there at my times
Power House gyms are either great or suck.

I have one 30mins from where I live and is a great gym best in my state the people are lucky to be in that area.

Then the one 3mins from my house shit hole. Was a crunch and must of just paid for the name.

Only two Smith machines? Where do the other 12 chicks do their hip thrusts?
On my cock. I’m there to help them.

I hope there are aren't any bad feelings over a stupid disagreement. If there are I wish you well and not being sarcastic.

$360/month for the family membership to Lifetime that the wife and daughter won’t waiver on. I get free razors and shaving cream for the big bald head at least.

$50 + $20 a month for member and guest pass to the good gym with all the Arsenal and other good equipment. All stone building that use to be a mill.
45 dollars a month, 24 hour access with a barcode, small but has everything I need. Surprisingly enough, at 5 p.m., its not that crazy. A lot of powerlifting kids are using up the squat racks, machines, and weights, which are free most of the time. Only issue is it seems like everybody there wants to be an influencer since at least 1 out of 3 people have a tripod

I travel a lot but my local "home" gym is $60/mo, owned by a powerlifter, so its a pretty cool place. No tripod people! 😄
HUGE free-weights/benches/racks room and another huge section of machines. Def worth the money, it gets busy, but never packed.
Pretty much everyone just goes in, does work, and leaves. No social-club b.s., no credit/debit card required.
If I wanna use it that month, I give the guy $60, no membership cards or key-fobs, or auto-pay b.s.. The months Im not there, I dont pay.
Gyms are so much better when you find an old school ones.

I joined a nice gym today cause I wasn’t happy with mine.

I’m paying 50 a month but a lot of free weights and a lot of hammer strength equipment.

Dumb bells up to 200lbs.

I think my is 350 a year,so about 30 a month with a 25 or 50 dollar maintenance fee a year. I had a second gym membership but it was 80 a month because the owner had a lifting portion and a fighting portion. Basically charging for both even if only one side is used. Couldn’t afford to keep both.

It's included in my country club membership. It's not the best gym, but it works and is rarely busy. All the old dogs rarely work out.

People may disagree with this but I think it benefits you to not be the biggest guy in the gym.

You will be motivated to do very intense work outs.

At the end of the day unless you’re a professional bodybuilder the only person your competing against is your self.

If we took two identical twins and had one work out with pros body builders or power builders etc.

The other one at planet fitness where you have people eating pizza while on the tread mill

I think the former would be the winner.

Exactly. “Iron sharpens Iron”.

Every gym here is about 10.00. I came from CA where I paid 75.00. I found two good gyms and because it's so cheap I joined both lol.
20.00 per month for both is a ok with me and these are big clubs with a pool ECT.

Love arsenal equipment. That was most of the equipment at my old gym. 70 something a month.

I was the biggest guy at PF this last weekend out of town and I’m not even big 😂 couple very lean guys stood out other than that it was dad bod central in muscle ts. At least there was some sexy chicks. PF is nothing more than a back burner travel gym imo. I really care about the equipment, you can make gains pretty much with barbells, dumbbells and other simple old school equipment, but there’s some nice pieces of equipment out there that just “feel right” every time. When I find that mind muscle connection on whatever piece of equipment I spam it.

I think mine is like 30 a month.
I still to this day have never stepped foot in a PF. The 10 dollars a month is tempting. I thought one day I would just go see what they actually have to work with but I haven't done it yet.

I think someone else said it, you don't need a ton to get your work in. I remember seeing Shaw and Hall in a video in a PF and it seemed like at least some of the machines were ok. They would have to have a decent amount of free weights.

Saw someone else mention Powerhouse. That used to be the preferred cop workout spot in my area till they closed. Now half of those guys go to my gym and the other to LA Fitness.

Question for all. Is it me or do county cops in general tend to use more gear vs city cops and state cops? Where I'm at the biggest mofos are always county, well that and a lot of correctional officers are BBs in their spare time.

I like lots of hammer strength equipment. I used to have a really hardcore gym near me but it didn't get enough biz. Place had a ton of free weights and hammer strength. Nothing really flashy at all though. You could have had all ASFers in there. There were few women and the ones that were there were pretty damn big.

Have you guys ever been to 24? The one in my city is busier than the most popular nightclub you could think of; shits annoying, worst part is they don't even do maintenance on their equipment.
We used to but they all went out of business. It looked like a used car lot inside that mother fucker every machine broken.

I go to 24, they put a new one near me a couple, years ago so I joined, but way too busy, so I go to an older one a couple miles away. The older one does have a lot of equipment either currently being repaired or in need of but I don't use to many machines always
