E.J.D's 75 Hard log

YOUR MIND IS A POWERFUL TOOL
December 16, 2022 AndyGram
You know that keeping your body healthy is essential for building the life you truly want…

But, are you actively working to keep your mind sharp and healthy as well?

Most people don’t … and it’s a BIG mistake.

Your thoughts directly impact every single decision you make...

So what are you doing to become mentally bulletproof?

Are you challenging yourself every day?

Are you reading books to gain perspective and extract valuable information?

Are you keeping the promises you made to yourself?

Are you controlling the things you can control?

Are you surrounding yourself with people who encourage your growth?

The investment you make in your mindset and mental toughness will ultimately dictate the outcome of your entire life.

If you aren't constantly working to shape your mind into a fucking weapon...

You will end up with much less...

...and you will become much less.

Your mind is an incredibly powerful tool...

Make sure you intentionally keep it sharpened.

…or don’t complain when you lose to someone who does.

Book it another day down. Feeling great mentally. I feel very locked in with few use of word to others. Could be there are only so many fucks in a day to give so limiting conversation takes a dip to only important and to the point. Or my intense side is really coming out which it has for a few weeks. Tim Grover's Relentless book has made me in tune with that. Physically not awful at this point. Only issues is sinus, head etc. My muscles are good with no pain in my knee or lower back. Those have passed. Thanks everyone for the support as this journey continues on. I appreciate all of you!

Day 8-14. Discovery, discipline and the danger zone

You'll discover things about yourself. Cool things. Amazing things you always admired about other people but never saw in yourself.

That discovery will drive you to become even more disciplined.

You'll discover that the time demands of 75Hard actually force you to value your time more and become far better at time management.

Because you will become more time conscious, you will become equally conscious of wasting words-yours and other people's. You'll find yourself not wanting to squander your minutes or hours in pointless conversations. So you'll discover you are capable of being far more direct with people you talk to.

You'll discover that, mentally, you really can push yourself after you want to quit. So you'll way to push yourself more!

You'll even find yourself wanting challenges in your life to be harder, demanding that you push yourself beyond your comfort zone! Because you will start to intuitively understand that the harder the task, the further something takes you beyond your level of comfort, the greater the sense of accomplishment.

In a sense, you'll start to experience a addiction to what we call the Process of Test and Triumph.

97% of the things we worry and stress over, never even happen. Ditch stress with a quick MINDSET shift — and go from "what if something bad happens?" to "what if something GOOD happens?” Winning begins in your mind

I need to do this more often for sure. Today was a shitty day and lingering on it ain’t gonna make it any better.

Keep up the solid work homie !!

I think we all can do a better job with this. I'm working on it daily myself. It will get better. Thanks 👍

Day 9... Win the day!!! Current bw 282.0. same story upon waking. Headache, stuffy, heavy right lung. I've been taking contrast showers where I start with warm water then keep turning it down colder and colder till it's completely cold. Today might just go warm warm warm and get the steam into the lungs. I do have access to breather treatments and a inhaler. Gotta nip this shit in the arse before it becomes a bigger hindrance. Win the day everyone!!

WHO YOU SURROUND YOURSELF WITH MATTERS
January 10, 2023 AndyGram

It’s important to be very cautious and selective about who you choose to spend your time with.

Your habits…

Your thoughts...

Your attitude...

Your energy...

Your progression...

...and everything in between…

Are heavily influenced by the people who are closest to you.

We're all familiar with the saying, "You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with."

This is very true.

...and it’s something you should treat with the utmost seriousness if you truly want the shit you say you want.

Most people aren't going to understand your sacrifices, your passion, or your actions...

The uncomfortable truth is you need to replace them with people who will as much as you possibly can.

It can be hard AF to do because sometimes these people are family.

…but if you truly desire a higher level existence it’s going to be difficult enough without a bunch of people in your ear talking you out of it.

In fact, this is why I used the word “replace” instead of just telling you to cut them out. Surrounding yourself with people who push you to be great is one of the best things you can do for your progression … and your sanity.

It’s not optional.

The longer you keep relationships around that are counterproductive to your goals...

The longer you'll stay far away from where you are trying to be.

I know first hand how powerful this is…

…and I am extremely grateful for every single one of you who drive me and help me get better every single day.

Thank you.

Day 9 reflection. The day has been won!! The post nasal drip I'm experiencing isn't helping my cause right now. I'm slightly disappointed that the rain stopped before my outdoor workout. Was looking forward to pushing thru in the rain as a challenge. That day will come. I need to find the next book to read soon. Think I'm 133 pages into Brad's book. I will be finishing it up soon. I'm thinking Atomic Habits by James Clear. I've listened to the auto version almost completely. The robot voice isn't the best listening experience though.

WE ALL SEE THINGS DIFFERENTLY…
September 15, 2022 AndyGram
Running a mile could be a warm up for some … but a long-term goal for others.

$10,000 might be chump change to a billionaire … but a massive sum of money for an hourly employee at McDonalds.

See what I'm getting at here?

While something may have one meaning to you...

It can have a very different meaning to someone else.

We all come from different places.

We all have our own thoughts.

We all have our own limits.

We all have our own flaws.

We all have our own perspectives.

We all have our own beliefs.

...and nobody else can see the world through the same lens you view it through.

The sooner we can all come to understand this...

Accept each other's differences...

...and encourage each other's growth...

The sooner we can begin to shape this world into a much better place for all of us.

Day 10 has arrived. It brought me a present of struggle. My sickness has advanced. I now sound like a 90 year old smoker. Non stop coughing, sore throat, headache and very heavy chest. Going the OTC route with Alka Seltzer cold and cough. It will pass but not quick enough for me. Current weight 280.2... I will win the day regardless!!

STOP WASTING YOUR ENERGY ON THIS…
February 09, 2023 AndyGram
Every single unit of energy you spend worrying about what other people think of you ... is a unit of energy you won't have to improve yourself, win, and do bad ass shit.

Regardless of what you do…

Regardless of how hard you try…

Regardless of your good intentions…

You could walk on water…

You could cure cancer…

…and some people will always believe the story they tell themselves about you over the story your actions tell the world.

Lots of reasons for this, but if you are committed to a path that doesn’t fall into the class of mediocrity you will find yourself as the villain in other people’s story from time to time.

It’s just the way it is.

My recommendation is to spend your time & energy elsewhere.

Do the best you can.

Legitimately no bullshit your best.

Improve when you fuck up.

Do your best to make things right.

Keep it moving and be mindful of your energy.

When you start utilizing that same energy to build your life in a productive way...

You will put yourself at a massive advantage in the long run.

The sooner you can develop this discipline...

The sooner you can drown out the noise and focus on what really matters.

Most people can’t manage their energy properly and it costs them a whole lot more than they realize.

Trust me when I say you don't want to be the person who wasted their opportunity to become great because of what "they" had to say...

"They" are irrelevant.

Fuck “they.”

Spend your energy becoming undeniably great in all areas of your life and everything will be just fine.

Day 10 reflection time... It was a struggle. Today was the hardest day I've had physically. Mentally strong staying the course. I won the day!! I finished Brad's book today as well. 150 pages in 10 days. I ordered 2 books today off eBay. Atomic Habits by James Clear and Benjamin Franklin An American Life by Walter Isaacson. I've seen the Benjamin Franklin book mentioned in a few videos I've watched recently. It was brought up in a Elon Musk video I watched earlier today. I still have about 20-30 pages left in The 75Hard book to finish. What's left is what to expect during time frames of the journey. 2 I've already posted. Thanks everyone. I hope you all won your days as well!!

THIS IS THE BEST FORM OF REVENGE
February 10, 2023 AndyGram

Never go out of your way to hurt someone who's hurt you.

Only losers do that shit.

You want to know what the best form of revenge is?

It's going out and executing day in and day out to become great...

Building an incredible life for yourself...

...and being truly authentic and happy.

Wishing pain on others will do nothing for you...

In fact, this negativity can even begin to work against you.

Focus on yourself.

If you do that...

You cannot be fucked with.

Day 11... Current weight 283.0. win the day.. embrace the challenge and forge ahead..

Day 11 reflection time. I had zero motivation today. Then I came to the conclusion. Motivation is bullshit. It's a temporary emotional response to a change that you want to experience. It could last a day a week or a month. It doesn't have staying power based on it's a emotional trigger. If you want the true power to do what you need to do daily. Make a promise to yourself. After you make that promise make a plan. After the plan is made Act then execute. Promise- Plan-Act-Execute. Keep the promise you make to yourself. That has the power to keep you going. To muster the courage to do what you promised to yourself. I won the day. I hope all of you won your day.

HAVE THE COURAGE TO ADMIT WHEN YOU'RE WRONG
February 11, 2023 AndyGram

If you truly want to live a happy and fulfilled life…

You have to be willing to admit when you're wrong … and change your mind when it's appropriate.

Far too many people get so bought into their own ego that it prevents them from accepting the truth...

Which results in a constant feeling of pain and frustration for them.

Many people ride their egos all the way to the bottom and don’t realize it until their entire life is in shambles…

…and some still don’t learn.

Here is the reality:

IT’S YOUR FUCKING FAULT.

Once you understand it’s your fault and that it’s ok to admit it and adjust course … you are able to free yourself from the destruction you have created for yourself.

Not a single one of us are right 100% of the time.

Zero.

But once you can develop the skill of detaching yourself from your beliefs and allowing yourself the opportunity to change your mind and learn something new...

You'll experience what it truly means to be free in your mind and heart…

…and you’ll be able to stop the dumpster fire and start progressing to a better place.

As do I. I've gotten better than I use to be. I always try to get all information needed to be in the right. There are times that doesn't go as planned and I'm wrong and need to fess up to it.

Day lucky 13 is here.. current weight 277.8.. feeling really congested in the noggin. Sinuses are very unhappy. Probably have a sinus infection going which I'm prone to getting. Other than that my body feels good overall. Have a great day everyone!

BREAK FREE FROM THIS MINDSET…
February 12, 2023 AndyGram
A lot of people sit around and wait for that one thing to make all of their problems disappear.

They say shit like ... "Once I make enough money, I'll be happy."

"Once I get that promotion, I'll start enjoying my career."

"Once I knock out this project, I'll have no stress."

"Once I get motivated, I'll start going to the gym and lose weight."

You can probably name a few people off the top of your head who think this way...

You may have even caught yourself thinking this way before too...

It's a completely normal expectation that many of us have.

But, this mindset will also keep you confined to a life of mediocrity if you can't learn to break free from it.

It doesn't matter how much money you make...

It doesn't matter where you move...

It doesn't matter how you feel...

It doesn't matter who you meet...

ZERO of these things will solve all of your problems ... and they sure as fuck won't make you immune to struggles and challenges in the future either.

So you can keep wishing your problems away by waiting for that "one thing"...

But it won't solve shit for you.

Quit trying to escape from your problems...

Start FACING THEM head on.

It's through the process of continually addressing and solving your problems that will help you build the necessary skills to DOMINATE at anything you set out to do.

Some nuggets today.. from the 75Hard book

Those who focus on what they have to give up...give up

Those who focus on what they want to gain...gain their goal

Another from 75Hard
Hopefully it comes out readable
