100% it was a control tactic and nothing else. I did not wear a mask from day one and I knew it was bs. And I never got Covid because I kept my immune system. Lock downs and masks caused more Covid cases from shutting down peoples immune systems so they couldn’t handle Covid. They knew this would happen.
 
I don't read the article as someone admits it was all a lie. I believe most everyone made the best decisions at the time with the information that was available. Initially. Some decisions were made as a result of 'groupthink'; and some were morphed into obvious political bullshit. It's always easy to criticize from the rear view mirror. Some decisions need to be made quickly and mistakes will happen. Do nothing and mistakes will happen. It's a shit sandwich that I call being on the sharp end.

I couldn’t disagree more. The best decisions were not made at all. They ruined small businesses and caused more suicides than they saved from Covid. There was clear evidence that lock down and masks were bullshit and the government chose to over exaggerate Covid and only sheep wore masks and Believed that crap. Especially the people who got vaccinated.
 
Perhaps it was coincidence but a few doctors I know said it was a light flu season during Covid. I didn't research data to support these statements. If true, possibly because people were more conscious about hand washing? So a single or combination of precautions can mitigate the spread of a virus. Situational awareness. It works in a variety of circumstances. Keep what works and toss the rest. It's hard to back test some of this. Perhaps someone in that 'industry' can speak more intelligently about it.

I hear what you're saying and would agree that in 'hindsight' some protocols were wrong. For a variety of reasons. I am fortunate to be in a State that tended to reasonably apply the rules and when new data came out made adjustments accordingly. People suffered less and some businesses actually flourished.

Unless I studied medicine and truly understood the dynamics I have to rely on others who have that knowledge. Not to do that is kind of like paying your attorney and then not taking the advice. Not too much different than this forum. Not everyone is correct but if you find the 1% and respect their experience it generally tends to be a better outcome.

My guess is that anything; including restrictions on travel; in the beginning were exclusively implemented to lower the half life, if you will, of an unknown threat. Thereby giving the experts more time to understand and provide solutions. Unless I was at the table so to speak it's pure speculation on my behalf.

I wouldn’t say anyone listening to advice from that idiot Fauci had any reason to believe it or call it credible in anyway at all. That guy has a life time of failures and now he can’t “remember” what evidence supported any of what he said. I didn’t believe it or wear a mask from day one so what I’m saying isn’t from ‘hindsight’.

This is how the lockdowns were sold to the public in the beginning. They had to provide a reason to lock down businesses, and add restrictions, otherwise panic would have ensued.

In the very beginning, not knowing much about the virus, I went along with closing schools, changing the way we shopped, and distancing ourselves from one another out of precaution. A couple weeks to attempt to knock down a new foreign virus, likely a lab manufactured made sense.

I didn't mind my wife spending two weeks at home, working with me. I didn't have a problem with my children learning from home for a couple of weeks.

My oldest daughter ended up in the hospital for 4 days and because no one knew what covid was, she received several blood transfusions. Her hemoglobin levels were low, so that made sense. She was gasping for air. All of this was coupled with flu symptoms. A week after her symptoms began to subside the news of covid became widespread. So I absolutely agreed with a two week lock down.

After two weeks I told my family to ignore the BS, wash their hands, and keep common sense distances from people.

Now our workforce and economy have been altered forever.

Right.

My point is, everything trump did or tried to do, to protect the economy as well as the safety of the people was met with resistance. Which leads me to believe, that this entire thing was political.

Covid was created in a lab for a reason. “They” literally told us for a year leading up to the coof coof that they were going to do this. This was indeed 100% political. The China aids was definitely not naturally occurring.
 
The one cool thing about the lockdowns was that I still got to go to work and my kids didn’t bring home crazy germs from school for like a year.

That was nice.

My wife went half crazy at home with the kids all day but my life didn’t really change. And work was way smoother with all the scared shitless company folks sitting home. Actually got work done.

My kids still went to school in person. They go to private school and the state couldn’t shut them down since it’s completely paid for by us.

If I could have afforded that I would have done that too. Hell, I almost bit the bullet and did it anyways… but my wife said that the added stress of them leaving their friends to go to a different school would have caused problems and normally I would have said “they’ll get over it” but my daughter has some serious anxiety issues due to fighting an illness for 2 years and I didn’t want to throw more shit at her.

But totally understand why people go that route. Our school doesn’t seem to be involved in that “woke” style curriculum… I think there’s actually a good balance of conservative teachers in our district. But some of the things I see in other schools …. I’d say an expensive private school would be worth it.

Yeah we just want to avoid the “woke” liberal bs being shoved down our kids throat. The world is full of weirdo democrats so I doubt shit will change anytime too soon. My kids school is very conservative and even refuses to hang a picture of Biden up in the school. Which I can appreciate.

Ricky there are a few things that stand out obvious that this whole thing was a world wide operation. klaus Schwab came out very publically and even wrote and published a book claiming that COVID19 was a "Great Opportunity" for a Great Rest of Civilization. That means every horror you can imagine and we are seeing those implementations happen in new Zealand and Australia now. As in those places, there will be travel zones and restrictions on travel. It will go from COVID tracking and "Health Safety" justifications to Climate Change as justifications. It is happening already of you follow some of the international news and follow the legislation. You can see Australian MEPs on the floor of Parliament stating as such. The goal of the last 3 years was to bring the world to heal for the great reset. Currencies will be gone in 5 years. Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDC) will be in place. These IDs will be attached to all your information. Vaccines, carbon scores and social credit scores will be associated with these CBDCs All your purchases, travels associations will be known. I know it sounds dispopian. If you asked me 5years ago if this could happen I would have sent you on your way as a loon. Look at what Agustín Carstens of the bank of international (BIS) settlements came right out and stated so. Agustin Carstens, Bank For International Settlements, And The Absolute Control Of Digital Currencies and here for a recent statement by the same bis representative after the G20 meetng BIS: 2022 G20 TECHSPRINT AWARD CEREMONY - AGUSTÍN CARSTENS. Very interesting; really appreciate all the info you provided. Education is the key to solving many issues instead of just following the herd or wanting to be accepted by a group.

I worked through the whole Covid mess; got it myself about 8 months in. I'll put myself in harms way before my family w/o regret every time. We all worked with the best info we had at the time.

Like many others; I thought politicizing of Covid was disgusting. And this was on both sides. To either do or not do something which may protect your health because of political affiliation is senseless. Many people seemed to make their choices on a coin flip. I believe in calculated risk; not foolish.

I've never been a conspiracy theorist however it's hard to ignore some of the things you've mentioned such as the Agustín Carstens brief. The technology is moving fast like other technologies can be used for good or evil.

Thank you all for provoking deeper thought and research on matters which are having a material impact in our lives. I choose not to bury my head in the sand and hope that somehow we can collectively make a change to preserve the freedoms hopefully most of us here enjoy.

Yes, Boston hospitals were empty. Had 3 visiting nurses for my brother-inlaws care when he was dying at home from cancer.
All 3 said the same thing (and they all came separately) RONA was a joke and the places were a ghost-town...
