So I’m really debating whether to start my first cycle or not. I’m a 26-year-old male, 6 feet tall, and my current weight is 160 lbs. Ive been planning on running 30mg of var and 250 of test e a week (split into two doses) for 8 weeks. I’m wondering if it’s even worth it to start a cycle and if I’ll even see any gains from doing it. Honestly I just need some input if it would do anything with my current physique (photo added) and if it will, just some guidance to what I can expect to see. Thanks all.

Have you done any blood work to see what your baseline is?

What’s your current test levels?

8 weeks is a little short for test e

Honestly, haven’t done any bloodwork yet. I’m just gauging to see if starting a cycle of var would benefit me at all. I do see how getting bloodwork for my test levels would be a factor into helping answer that question.

Starting var now beneficial - I would say no.

I’d get blood work done and decide if you wanna jump on longer than 8 weeks. If the answer is yes with diet and proper training var could add a little for sure.

Being that it looks like you have never trained a day in your life, this is generally where I’d say no... But fuck it and knock that cycle out of the park, young man.

I’d just run the Test E longer than 8 weeks.

We’re living in the age of shortcuts and minimal effort... might as well let the compounds supposedly do all the magic.

Shit man if you're going to do it....
Lock in that diet, start test e for 4-6 weeks then add in that Var for 8-10 weeks. Train your ass off.

Like everyone else is saying, you definitely wanna run that test longer than 8 weeks. Im no professional but thats what I would do with what you're proposing...

Yeah no.. gym brother.. You will thank me. But if ya do go for 20+wks what the PCT plan here because that’s not fun. Gym brother it’s like unlocking a cheat code.. where is the cheat code if it came with the game.. still have to pass first levels without it or it’s worth shit.. but I get it.

You’re right. I haven’t lifted much. Around December I decided on my weight loss journey. Went from 225 lbs to 160. Most of the workouts ive done were to preserve what muscle I had on my deficit (Pull ups, Chin ups, push ups, etc.). I’m gonna start my lean bulk adding 300-400 extra calories above maintenance. I’m gonna take your advice and the advice of others and just go natty…..for now. I appreciate the response.

My brother based on your frame and questions anabolic is not the right choice for you at this moment. You should be able to put on at least 10 pounds with proper diet and training. Once that is in order and your get to a point where you are not making any more gains, anabolic could possible be an option.
At this point I would recommend you hire a coach that puts a program both diet and training for you and start with that. Trust me my friend I have seen this many times in the past 30 plus years. If you don't have diet and training in order you are wasting time with gear.

Best of luck to you and be safe.

I appreciate the response. I’m going to take your advice and the advice of others and stay natty. I was currently dropping weight from 225 to 160 with my deficit. The workouts I was doing were just to preserve muscle on that deficit. Now that I’m gonna start lean bulking, I should start to see some muscle growth.
