Understanding half-life’s

Half life’s really confuse me. For test cyp for example, it’s 8 days. So does that mean if you take 500mgs in 8 days you’ll have 250mgs in your system, then after 16 days you’ll have 125mg?

If you were to take 500mgs day after 5 weeks would your levels be the same as if you took 100mgs every week for 5 weeks?

if you take 500mg a day, after 5 weeks you will have practically nothing.
if you take 100 mg a week after 5 weeks you will have the last 100 injection which will last you for another couple of weeks.
in the first case you will have 500mg released in 2-3 weeks, then you will have nothing.
in the second case you have testosterone continuously for 5 weeks + the last 2-3 of elimination.

always 500 mg they are but they are released in a completely different way.
in the first case you will have a very high initial spike, in the second you will have 5 spikes 5 times lower than the first

I guess I should have just been specific about what I did instead of trying to figure it out myself.

I’m recently prescribed TRT on the 11th to which i front loaded 500mgs test and then continued on with prescribed protocol call of 150mgs/week.

I have my first labs 5 weeks from the 11th. they schedule my labs on pin day and asked me to not do injection day of lab so it I’ll have been a week since I last pinned.

I’m wondering if that initial 500mg injection will affect the labs 5 weeks later, sounds like it won’t. I’m probably going to skip two injections prior so my levels are even lower in hopes of getting prescribed 200.

Yea. You have the right idea. Another 8 days would be 62.5mgs active.

No. Getting the first part right, how did you get the second part SO wrong?

You'd only have somewhere between 10-15mgs in your body from first shot so yes it will affect it, but not much.

Why front load when trying to get prescribed higher mg trt?

Honestly just overzealous to get my sex drive back. It’s been months since I’ve had sex….

Given my circumstances, would you skip the last two shots before labs or something else?

Instead of a 100? I’m on 150… and when would I do the 50? I’m assuming you mean on the 3rd week, 2 weeks before labs ?

Definitely not a chemist or someone who specializes in pharmacology but this is why many on TRT would feel messed up with monthly and bi monthly shots.
