I have been lifting again for about two years now and I was feeling very out of it to say the least for years. I went to the doctor and he ran my test and I was at 419. I’m 43 and she’s pretty well I still look late 20s early 30s. I was at once 306 lbs and got myself down to 240 ish before trt. I then did a bunch of research, here and other places in regards to being treated. I decided not to go the doctor route and get test on my own through a great lab that I found on here. I started myself at 100 mg per week and planned on checking my bloods on 8 weeks. I couldn’t get an appointment til my 11th week and my results came back. I

I think I responded quite well on that dose and most likely will keep this going as long as my blood works comes back good. My hemocrit and the rest came normal to low end. I sincerely have never felt better. My body has slowly been responding but I was already working out so idk how much is test and just myself. I am on a massive cut atm trying to see the abs by summer. I have also considered a geared bulk at the end of the summer if I want more than lean but that’s a long ways away. My question to you is this still too high? Only side effect I think I get from test is my temperament is definitely way more edgy but outside of that I feel fine and actually better than ever.

None of this is high. It’s actually a little below average to average for TRT numbers. Your dose is very conservative. I would leave everything where it’s at. Especially if you are feeling great.

If you need to titrate up you could go to 120mg. I would focus on dropping the fat weight, doing cardio, getting the heart healthy and keeping resting heart rate low. This will set the stage for you feeling even better on TRT.

Then later you can bulk. But even then, make attempts to not put back on excess fat if you bulk.

I’ll say it’s perfect numbers for TRT. Did you check estrogen also? If not, that’s something that can get out of range without you noticing until you start getting sides.

So, I didn’t directly ask for this. I may have fumbled here. I don’t know if my doctor did as he wants to run bloods every three months. I will ask for it next time if not. Thanks for this.

Low really? I thought I was above the normal. I hear a lot of men doing 200 mg and not even seeing 900s. So idk. That’s what I’ve been doing. Lifting daily. Push pull legs and then 13 mins cardio 10 incline 3.0 speed walks daily just to burn some calories. I don’t over do it because I don’t want to start burning muscle. I eat super lean. Measure my foods. Right now my carbs are very minimal. Some oats and a baked potato. Maybe a banana and the rest chicken or some other meat and eggs. At my height and working out my maintenance is about 3100 calories a day and I’m intaking about 2300 or so and after working out I figure like 1950 or so. So I’m on a massive deficit. I definetely see it in my size because of the lack of carbs but I’m leaning out pretty well. I keep my protein around 200 g a day or so give or take. My plan is to get down to a low body fat percentage and then consider a bulk but again trying with Whole Foods and lean. Maybe do one cycle or two and see where I stand but this is the distant future if I do go that route.

I did not. I just told him I was doing it through and online clinic. But to be fair I did a lot of research prior and was confident that I would treat it the same way they would. Saving myself the headache and the extra cash.

Why don’t you just ask your Dr for a script? If you have insurance that will be the cheapest option.

To be honest. My doctor was a complete dick about this. He was like social media is making people think all of this. Asking me shit about it. I literally almost snapped on him, like it’s my body man. He referred me to a urologist for it and I didn’t pursue it and decided to start on my own. I do have insurance but when I did research from what I read if it isn’t under 300 they don’t cover it anyway. Albeit. Mine felt low and for my age to me was low. To them it isn’t considered low enough to warrant treatment through insurance.

You have no obligation to this Dr, if I felt my Dr was dick I would change right away!

Idk, I think they can if they want, especially if you say you’re already are on TRT. I changed Dr’s many times during the years and they never seemed to have issues with honoring my previous script.

I would research Dr’s in your area and shop around until you find one that works for you, (a script for 100mg ew should be easy), it’s nice to have a script in case you travel or whatever.

Find a new doctor, don't let some jerkoff be a gatekeeper of your health.

Is this peak or trough? How many days after your last shot did you do bloods? I’m assuming 1x weekly IM?

I felt awful at 1400+ peak with weekly IM. Was much better at 740 TT and 22 FT doing 3x weekly IM on 140mg a week.

Currently doing 140mg split into daily subq putting me firmly at 540 with 16 FT. Feel the same as I did at 740 energy wise BUT I’m cutting (instead of being at maintenance like I was at 740) so considering I feel just as good at a lower number while in a normally fatiguing state I’d say I’ll probably feel fantastic when I start maintaining or bulking.

Your numbers are within clinical ranges. But you should check your estrogen as well.

Ultimately the question is how YOU feel? Not everyone feels better with more. Theres a few dudes on the forum who have admitted they don’t feel better they feel the same with higher numbers.

Ya I may do this going in the future. I did buy a good amount so I’m okay for quite some time. The traveling was definitely a concern as I’m planning flying to turkey and other places this year but I figured I’d just throw a vial in a bag and take my chances. My doctor I do like but when it comes to things that he feels against he scrutinizes it heavily. I will try to find another one at some point. I stay with him out of convenience as he’s close by and I live in a big city that parking is ridiculous as well as wait times in a lot of places. I think it’s the stigma even with a lot of these pcps that you are solely looking for recreational abuse or whatever it is and they don’t want a part of it. Hopefully that changes at some point. Until then hopefully this supplier has available in the long run for me.

To be fair I take my dose on Friday mornings. My test was Tuesday morning so it was mid week so I’m assuming I peak a little higher than this. I do one shot per week because I really don’t like to inject much so I’d rather once per week if possible. I slipped up on asking for estrogen tests but I don’t feel terrible. My bloodwork as far as cbcs and the rest are perfect. Next time I will ask for the estrogen test as well though. I feel a ton better but as I said I do feel like my patience and temperament can be a little bit of an issue if I don’t control it. Not full on roid rage but if someone really tests me or something I have to hold back crashing out so much more than usual but I think that has a lot to do with my personality as well.

Damn I wish I responded that well. That's exactly what my levels look like at 240 a week. If you feel good, health markers look good, and you have no noticeable sides then run it. Definitely check estrogen when you can, I've noticed when my temperament changes it's usually estrogen related.

Wow. I guess I’m lucky for sure. Least once you have it dialed in it’s dialed in for the long run however the dose amount I assume. I really didn’t estrogen would be the cause of my temperament. I definitely will be asking for this in the future if the labs don’t show up this week because my doctor may have asked for it but idk.

I would definitely check your estrogen, because I find that if my estrogen is too low, I am very depressed and anxious and if it gets too high, I have very little patience. When I first was put on TRT my estrogen shot up to 250 while my total test was 500 and that was just a whole cluster fuck and I’m pretty sure I spent most of that in a year blind rage, lol. I find when my ass gets over about 50 that’s when I start to feel a little more impatient. When my estrogen is good and my test is good I am one of the most calm people you’ll ever meet.

from 100mg of test a week man those numbers are rock solid. I bet you feel amazing man

If that test result was at your trough, then it would appear that you are over the top of the range for most of the week. Most around here would be happy with those numbers for TRT. A Dr may think it is some what high as you would be out of the range much of the week. I always like to get a test on occasion to see what my peaks are and not just my troughs. So i have good idea of what is really going on all week.

I agree with this. However, if my bloodwork came back fine there isn’t really any huge side effects from being a little higher than this early on in the week?

I would guess you are more likely over the range for 5ish days.
Lots of people can have fine blood work for years then years later still have issues.
I just like to have the best understanding that i can so i can make what i hope it the best choice for myself. I like to think very long term. Others have different time frames they base things off of.
On 100mg/wk of test my levels are 1100 2 days after the inject. 5 days later they are low 400's. For me to take 1 injection and have my levels at the top of the range a week later i am way way over the top for many days.
Blood work is not a guarantee it just points in a direction. For example i have had great blood work all my life and still have calcified arteries. I am not looking for advice on that issue just using it as an example.

For TRT that is... Usually 200 should put you over 1500 easily but yes, those people you mention, might have other factors like high SHBG. Or their test is under dosed.
