The Gasman Files

Good morning brothers,

Small update. I topped out at 182 after my high carb day (850g). Just a gross amount of food. Body tolerated it pretty well. No spikes in BP which happened over the Christmas holiday. Starting to settle in around 175-176 which would be a two pound jump on average since last increase in food.

I’d like to see the trend over the next two weeks and see if we have a slower gain or if it stays at 2 pounds/wk. that would be too much for my liking and we’d probably adjust the food down a little bit but we’ll see.

No changes to gear and training has been going great. Even with the bump in weight, the composition is holding nice. I need to start packing a tripod to get some good shots. Hit a side chest the other morning during my session and I thought to myself, damn now that’s the money shot 😂

Happy training brothers

Good evening gentlemen,

It’s been a minute since I updated so let’s see where we are at.

Food has stayed the same 200g carbs (low), 600 (training day) and two high days (850g).

Only changes to gear is GH is at 5iu.

Weight has been going up nicely while holding some decent conditioning. I’ve lost a good amount of leg vascularity but some is still there. These two pics are after a high carb day and weighed 186. The other day i hit a new high of 189 but the average been holding 186 this past week. I have to attribute this the increase in food and GH.

I’m adding an additional training day. Going from four days to five and see how that goes over the next few weeks. Can always pull back if the progress stalls.

Had some bloodwork and overall I was very pleased except for my thyroid numbers. Nothing unexpected but I can’t correct the issue with the current medicine I use for hypothyroidism that I had at baseline. Ill post the bloodwork on a separate post.

Hope everybody is out there hitting their goals and slinging the iron.

What’s up everybody? Been a couple weeks and figure I check in. Been slacking on the log. Bodyweight averaging around 190. No changes to the gear since last update. Food is the same.

I haven’t noticed any drop in performance at the gym going to five days so I’m going to stick with 5 day PPL split. Pretty happy overall with where I’m at. Had a week where I only went up a pound and thought I’d settle in there but the following week had a four pound jump with no changes in food. Not sure where it’s going but I can’t complain.

Coach is happy where we are at so that’s good enough for me. We still continue the grind and sling the iron. Light weight baby!!!!!!

GFM!!!

I wanted to share an experience that I know everybody has probably had with growth hormone. I’ve been running 5 IU for about 6 weeks, some numbness and tingling in the fingers. Completely managable.

One night I had a scant amount left over in the bottle and said fuck it. It probably ended up being 7 IU with the way iron lion has been dosing their orange tops. That night I was woken up out of sound sleep with the worst swelling and pain in my wrist. Could not make a fist! Couldn’t believe just a couple
extra IU would have such an accrute affect. This wore off after a couple hours after waking up. It seems like 5 IU is my threshold that I’m willing to tolerate and I’m ok with that.

Anybody else have something similar happen where you try to push the dose and then think to yourself, nah I’m good 😂

I fill my pinkies fall asleep and I can’t move them. Or tingly feeling, but it’s not bad. When I started Gh much lower I couldn’t grip and that was where I’d back off. Haven’t gotten that again. I also run different Gh than I was running then, so who knows.

Do you run SB or IL?

Yea it’s wild to me that an extra unit can cause that acute of a change. Won’t be doing that again 😂

What’s going on brothers?

I have to thank @Meetketchup for calling me out on my lack of updates. I’ve just been lazy as fuck but I’m ticking the boxes daily to get where I need to be.

Training has been stellar. Continuing with a 5 day PPL. Compound strength has been making great gains lately. Probably because my weight is up.

Added in two, 10 minute HIIT cardio sessions with the stair master in addition to my 8-10 K steps per day.

Food has stayed the same. Low days are 250c, 180p, 60f (added). Medium/training days 600c, 180p and 30f (added). High day 2x/week 850c, 180p 0f (added).

Gear is the same. 300 test, 300 primo, 150 deca, 5 IU GH.

Body weight average is currently 195.8 the last pic shirtless is in the morning after a high day and was an ATH bodyweight at 198.8

Kurt is very happy where I’m at and has told me to keep crushing the food with the current body comp. About 2-3 months until prep for an October show.

Back to back days for the gasman files. LFG 🚀

Been training at 5 am since the start of new year with change in work schedule. Lifts haven’t suffered one bit.

Hit calves and quads today. Start with sitting calves 3 sets all to 0 RIR. Then on to leg extensions 2 sets taken to failure or 0 RIR. 2 sets leg press to 1 RIR. 2 sets adductors to 0 RIR. Finish it off with two sets seated leg curl. Taken to failure or 0 RIR.

I run a PPL so when I hit hamstrings/glutes I’ll do 2 sets leg extensions at the end. Total quad volume 6 sets. Doesn’t seem like much but legs have never been bigger.

Didn’t have enough carbs packed so when I get out of the OR at 8 pm I’ll polish the day off with a couple of Nutella and Fluff sandwiches. These are truly delicious.

looking sick bruh

Three days in a row. Who is this guy?!

Hit pull session with an upper back focus. 3 sets hammer strength row on the upper grips 6-10 reps with 0 RIR. 2 sets lat pull down 6-10 reps 0 RIR. 2 sets single lat pull down (lower lat focus) 8-12 reps 0 RIR. Kelso shrugs on T bar. 2 sets 6-10 0 RIR. I really like using the T bar for this, allows me to focus on not bending the elbows. I tend to do that with DBs. 2 sets rear delt cable. 8-12 reps at 0 RIR. 2 sets preacher curl. 6-10 reps 0 RIR. 2 sets incline DB curl. 6-10 reps 0 RIR.

Another update I felt important to share is that I got myself off telmisartan and nebivolol. I noticed an increase in BP when adding DHTs in my stack. After some discussion with Kurt, I doubled my magnesium from one gram to two grams and focused on increasing my potassium to sodium ratio. Instead of it being 1:1 it’s now at least 2-3:1. Since making these adjustments to supplements, BP consistently 115-120. This is a big reason I love Cronometer. Tracks all the micros so you can dial this stuff in. Always think root cause when dealing with side effects.

Until next time 🤙🏻

No training today. Did three in a row which I don’t prefer to go over without a rest day. Did an easy 30 minute walk before heading into work. Between that and all the walking around I do throughout the day I easily get 10K total.

On call this weekend and already have a case booked. When that happens I like to get up and get a 45-60 minute walk in before I head in. You never know how long your day is going to be. I still pack a change of clothes and hit the gym if I’m my day allows but it’s never a guarantee. This will be my last call shift since I’m changing jobs and it one with no call/no weekends.

Keep slinging the iron boys.

Thanks for the feedback man. I got it done out of curiosity and to see what the LBM was more so than the BF number. Idea being I could get another one in a year and compare how much LBM was added. Everything you said makes perfect sense.
100% a tool to guage progress!

Got an unexpected session in today. Had to go in the hospital for a couple cases but was done at 1. You never know what’s coming through the door.

Hit Hamstring/glutes/calves. Usually start with seated calf raise 3 sets, 2 sets seated leg curl, 2 sets SLDL, 3 sets adductors, 2 sets single leg press and 2 sets leg extensions. Everything moving good and went up on all sets

New plan going forward after my check in. Once I finished my current bottle of deca, we are going to pull it completely to give enough time for it to be out of my system for start of prep. After two weeks, we are going to increase the test to match the total anabolic load. So eventually will be 450 test, 300 primo

Getting fucking hammered at the hospital today. 6 add on cases. Never ceases to amaze me how many people get appendicitis in a small community hospital. Always an old person who falls and breaks their hip. Continue to fight sarcopenia with diligence my friends.
I will still get my 10 K steps, hospital has a small gym with a treadmill so I will get some short walks in. Even in off season, that baseline movement is non negotiable for me.
