Sky high lab results from PCP

So last week had my yearly check in with PCP. He orders full labs, basically every result is good except Test & Estrogen. Both sky high. DR messages me this morning, no TRT for 3 weeks and are you on an AI?

Has anybody else gone through something similar, and what can I expect? Lower dosage?…..

55 y/o ~12%BF 175lbs, Test Cyp 200mg/ week 1 injection. Last injection was 4 days pre labs.

I’ve been on this dose for 1 year, I don’t “feel” any sides

Less than 70 with a total test of over 1500 is not high estrogen imo. Its proportional to your test. I wouldn't inject once a week though. For reference my last blood work came back with a total test of 1335 and an Estradiol of 66. I feel fine with no estrogen sides to note. I inject daily.

From your lab dates it looks like you weren't fully saturated when you got your 1st test after starting TRT (200mg is a high starting dose).

Then you didn't get a test for a year and you're at your current baseline. You probably should've gotten test 6-9 months ago as you started this new medicine.

No you shouldn't quit. You should probably drop to ~130 and then get tested in 3 months to see where you're at. You could just be a high responder

A little high on Estrogen isn't that bad as long as you're not having issues..it's when it crashes..that really sucks...
Everyone is different..
Dr.s suck when it comes to TRT..
Best just to manage your own..
Once you get "Yours " dialed in life is good..!!
Many guys have personalized theirs..

A lot of older guys add a little something to it..

Thanks for all the input. I was planning on managing my dosing after this visit anyway. I was going to bump up to 300/wk to see how that felt, guess we’ll see about that since my levels are sky high on 200/wk

Ok, bit of an update here. Dr RX’s Tamoxifen 10mg EOD and no T for 3 weeks. I asked if I should get new labs before starting back and he said, sure we can do that.

I really like my Dr but now I’m starting to “see the light” on why most of you guys handle your own protocol.

What, if anything, should I expect from the Tamoxifen?

Damn you done fucked up!!! You gotta be careful if your PCP is prescribing your meds. I would be he’s going to lower your dose (from experience). They don’t have the best understanding of these things.

Oh I’m sure he’s going to lower the dose, doesn’t matter to me. I have enough to stay at 200/wk if I want to.
I have new labs in a few weeks so we’ll see. I just want to stay within range, but on the higher side for sure.
But in the future, I’ll just do my own labs and adjust accordingly.

Yep doing your own labs helps. I use to just lower dose about 3 weeks out to ensure everything was good. Was only doing labs for provider once or twice a year so it wasn’t a huge ordeal. Or find a Dr that’s looser with program. My current urologist really don’t care. I’ve given labs at 2000+ total test and he doesn’t blink an eye at it. As long as important labs are good it’s not doing any harm.

Update, I went 29 days without any TRT and DR RX’d Tamoxifen 3/week. Labs attached. Hormones have tanked
I knew this was going to happen, and you all warned me…..
Now DR says hop back on .

I’m going to take over this protocol on my own like many have suggested. Starting at 100mg/wk then bloods in 6-8 weeks to check levels, adjust from there. Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I would kick that doctor to the curb. Those levels are unacceptable. They are supposed to be looking out for your health

1st your E2 is not sky high. I intentionally keep mine around 65 thats my sweet spot. E2 is very beneficial and IMO if you have no sides keep it there. And absolutely DO NOT pull test for 3 weeks of youre uncomfortable with that high of test just lower your dose. If I was you id stop the 1 week injections and move to a micro dose schedule ED or EOD. It would lower e2 by a small amount over time. If you've been on 200mg for over a year with no AI protocol in place and your e2 is only high 60s you aromatize on the lower end of the scale which is good but adding an AI in my opinion is unnecessary
