Good morning, all,

Today marks the 25th anniversary of the terrorist attack on our country (for the USA guys). This is not a political thread or statement but I just wanted to share a few thoughts.
I can vividly remember the day, watching it happen live on TV in high school. Leaving school that day and hearing no planes flying overhead (very rare occurrence due to my home) and then hearing the roar of fighter jets as they were on patrol.
My cousin was working in the Pentagon and made it out.
A number of friends lost parents that day- a few were FDNY. One in particular, was off that day, saw the first Tower get hit, ran to his station and made it onto the Rescue to go in with his house, and most never made it out.
I remember the intense patriotism after, the divisions of politics seemed to melt away. Then we went to war. That's another topic for another day.

I'm rambling- but finally, Never Forget, never forget the sacrifices made by those who looked into the void and pushed on to do their jobs and gave the ultimate sacrifice. True Heroes.

Was probably one of the wildest experiences of my life. Was in the City that morning on my way to attend a seminar Downtown. As a Long Islander this one hit hard especially since as I was going for my Doctorate in History/foreign policy and was up on the "real" shit going on with the CIA, Bin Laden, threats, etc.

Lost two close people in the Towers. Father and mother in-law were both in on the cleanup of the rubble. Mother-in-law died of cancer and father-in-law has lung issues which started shortly after.

So sorry for your losses, brother. We must remember ALL who stepped up- just like your father and mother-in-law, who got the “second hand” effects from the rubble.

No telling how many more died years later, just a horrific day that’s never really ended. Never forget !

While I respectfully disagree, my point of this post and I hope we can all agree on, is the men’s bravery and sacrifice shown by the first responders as well as everyday citizens who stood up and answered the call All love and respect, brother!

Yall are making it hard to keep this an upbeat thread lol the man just wanted a remembrance thread for the 1st responders and victims. I DEFINITELY have my opinion on what happened but lets start another thread or something so I dont have to scream "Mossad and CIA did it" in this good hearted thread.

Thanks, brother. Beautiful thing about this country is everyone can have their thoughts and views.

Went through the 9/11 memorial. Crazy. Humbling. Thanks for this thread.
Unfortunately, many have forgotten. Different thread.
 
I forgot the name of the bar- but my last time in NYC I got absolutely plastered at a bar near the 9/11 memorial. Had pics of first responders all over the place. Ribbons, patches etc literally up and down the walls, ceilings, etc. Awesome people- so many stories. I can’t imagine seeing 2 of the tallest buildings on the planet go down the way they did. FDNY heroes man.
 
So there were US government employees/politicians flying planes into buildings committing suicide not foreign terrorist???

Undoubtedly without question middle Eastern terrorist flew the planes into the buildings. Thats not up for debate. I had a whole book typed out in response to your comment 😆 but fuck all that. This should be about remembering the fallen not half-ass conjecture based theories. Maybe another time, another thread we can dive deep.
