So my dad is a pretty energetic guy, pushes himself hard, but after high school athletics pretty much just worked (construction) full time. Had kids, then re-discovered backpacking and triathlons. One of the biggest roadblocks/mental challenges was that the guys he went with or competed against were all doctors, lawyers, etc, who went to these races or hikes after a long week of sitting around, standing occasionally, and generally only exerting themselves in sport-specific training. I remember we went to a big triathlon and the day before, no lie, we were hauling around block and mixing concrete for like 11 hours.
He's a mad dog, worked hard played hard, and is now pretty busted up. Let himself go over the last 3-4 years and started accumulating weight around the midsection (though peaked at 155 lbs, 5'8"). Still able to out-hike the average Joe, but diet wasn't any good and structured athletic exercise was non-existent.
Enter gear.
I made him lose 8 pounds first on his own. Mentally, I think he would've used gear as a crutch. But with the promise of feeling like a 30 year old again (and me busting on him for being fat) he tightened up his diet like crazy and started adding very modest amounts of exercise. Once I knew the 8 pounds was legit (not just water weight or less food in his gut), we started treatment.
**Cyp 250/Deca50, 1 cc a week
25mg Anavar, 1 pill a day
.25ml Arimidex a day
** This is what he is currently up to. We started with just the Cyp/Deca, then added Anavar week 6. Added Arimidex week 3 after his nipples started getting sensitive (did an aggressive 1ml for 4 days, .5ml for 3 days, then down to .25)
He maintained the diet, and then tightened it up even more. Started forcing himself to go through actual workouts after a long day of work, and gained confidence when he could wake up the next day and not be totally destroyed.
Note: Though his performance in a given session/day/hike has improved, he is still wrecked by the end. The difference is that he wakes up and is able to go back at it.
Question: I told him at the very start he would have an issue with his muscles getting stronger than his joints/ligaments/tendons could handle, and at month 6 this has really kicked in. He's got crazy pipes now, and is used to doing certain movements full force (like pressing against a sheet of drywall). It's leaving his shoulders/tendons all messed up, he is just too strong for the other parts of his body. Apart from HGH, is there anything users on here have tried to help alleviate this? Fish oil, another supp, etc?
Future: My plan is to start him on higher doses of Deca instead of the blend, I'm hoping this helps some of these pain-related issues.
Thank you in advance for your feedback
