Who is taking both? I have slightly elevated HCT. Been doing the high fiber, high hydration, half a grapefruit thing. And that has kept me in range just at the top of it. There is a history of stroke in my family so I'm careful about fat quality. I kept seeing a lot about Nattokinase and of course baby aspirin has been around forever. My initial thought was 4000fu of Natto and a baby aspirin. But, I've seen some stuff about not taking them together. But I see other people taking them together. What is everyone's experience with both. If its a "depends on your reaction" kind of thing, what am I looking for as far as warning signs? Easy bruising, bleeding etc.

Any issues? You aren't bleeding out when you shave or anything. Like everything on the internet you see both extremes. From its fine and it helps. To your brain is going to hemorrhage and you'll die. Also, how much of each are you taking?

I take both. My family has a history of heart disease and pre/hypertensive BP. I take them as preventative measure because my BP is always elevated along w red yeast rice, citrus bergamot, garlic extract, coQ10…. Im taking no chances being enhanced, on bulk cycles I add in telmisartan too. In my opinion, fuckin do what you need to to be as safe as possible unless adverse reactions occur.

Easy bruising, bleeding etc.
I don’t think you need to be concerned about these symptoms—you’re not an geriatric on a blood thinner like warfarin. The only caution would be if you’re taking doses of EFA/fish oil (1.5–2 grams or more). If your omega intake comes from eggs, beef, and salmon, you should be fine.

What were your HGB and HCT levels beforehand? Just to be clear, everything I’m saying is speculative—I’m not a doctor.

17 and 51 Natty. 18 and 54 on cycle before any mitigation. Need to schedule updated labs soon.

Omegas mostly come from eggs and flax oil, I use it to cook. I do get beef at least once a week. Been slacking on the fish. But I will have some salmon and sardines here and there.

I rotate with both but try to not use both at the same time. I do notice that I bleed more than I should from small cuts and cuts that is small and “shouldn’t bleed that much” usually do. Stay away from both if you have a surgery coming up.

I dropped the aspirin years ago. Between it and all the other supp's i was taking it was thinning my blood to much. Aspirin isn't universally recommended for everyone anymore.

A bleed is more likely than a clot

Key Differences Between Nattokinase and Aspirin

Both nattokinase and aspirin are used for blood-thinning/antithrombotic effects (popular in enhanced cycles for viscosity/clot prevention, e.g., on EQ), but they work through completely different mechanisms with distinct strengths, risks, and applications.
AspectAspirin (Low-Dose, e.g., 81mg)Nattokinase (e.g., 10,000 FU)Key Takeaway for Stacking
Primary MechanismIrreversibly inhibits COX-1 enzyme in platelets → blocks thromboxane A2 production → prevents platelet aggregation/clumping.Direct fibrinolytic enzyme (from natto/fermented soybeans) → breaks down fibrin (protein in clots) and may indirectly reduce platelet aggregation.Aspirin: Anti-platelet (prevents new clots forming). Nattokinase: Fibrinolytic (dissolves existing fibrin/micro-clots).
Main EffectsStrong prevention of arterial clots (e.g., heart attack/stroke risk reduction); mild anti-inflammatory.Promotes breakdown of fibrin; improves blood flow/viscosity; potential for dissolving micro-clots.Complementary: Aspirin stops platelets sticking; nattokinase clears fibrin buildup (anecdotal favorite for EQ polycythemia).
Evidence StrengthVery strong (decades of large RCTs; gold standard for CV prevention).Moderate (smaller RCTs/animal studies for fibrinolysis; promising but less robust than aspirin for CV outcomes).Aspirin has superior proven CV protection; nattokinase more for viscosity/flow (enhanced community preference).
Onset & DurationFast onset; irreversible effect on platelets lasts 7–10 days (daily low-dose maintains).Faster acute fibrin breakdown (hours); effects shorter—daily dosing needed.Aspirin: Long-acting prevention. Nattokinase: More "on-demand" clearance.
Common Sides/RisksGI irritation/ulcers/bleeding (dose-dependent; low at 81mg).Mild GI upset; lower bleeding risk than aspirin but still present (fibrinolytic).Stacked: Increased overall bleeding potential—monitor bruising (your fish oil adds to this).
Best ForPreventing platelet-driven arterial clots (proven CV risk reduction).Supporting fibrin clearance/viscosity (anecdotal for "thick blood" on high RBC cycles).Your EQ ramp: Stack covers both platelet and fibrin pathways comprehensively.

Why They Complement Each Other in Your Protocol

  • Not the same: Aspirin excels at stopping new clot formation (platelets); nattokinase at dissolving fibrin in existing/micro-clots.
  • Synergy: Your combo (81mg aspirin + 10,000 FU nattokinase + fish oil) provides broader antithrombotic coverage—ideal for EQ-induced polycythemia/RBC viscosity.
  • No redundancy: Different targets = additive benefits without full overlap.

I take 8000 FU of Natto, and 81mg baby aspirin.
Doc isnt concerned, neither am I... Just got the best bloodwork I've ever gotten, even at this age (59).
First off, congrats on your best bloodwork ever! I'm 50, but would love to get the best bloodwork ever... what's your secret? Other than the 8000 FU of Natto, and 81mg baby aspirin, are you taking anything, or doing anything that you think helped or contributed?

How's your cardio? I've been slacking. Been trying to get back in the habit this past week. I know it helps the bloods. I just keep making excuses.
