Most people know Kratom and the potential effects on the liver. We are going to focus on GGT levels for this thread and what I have seen via blood work.
I have seen six cases now of people coming to me with blood work with highly elevated GGT levels (200+ range). No orals, harsh injectables, bad foods or alcohol. The one thing in common was using Kratom. Had one guy who was consuming as little as 6g to a guy consuming around 40g.
After discontinuing Kratom all 6 guys had their respective GGT levels back to normal in time frames of 4-8 weeks.
I am not saying everyone reacts the same to Kratom in regard to sides, but if you are a kratom user make sure you check your GGT levels in your next panel to be safe. It seems like even at low dosages over time (years can do just as much damage as short term highly daily intakes)
Just putting this out there.
