So, I got this back this morning, wasn’t surprised and I’m waiting to see what my Primary comes back with. I’d like to get a bag or two ,just to speed things up, but won’t happen right away. I’m wondering if people on ASF have had this and once they got things in order ,did it make a difference? Energy wise. IMG_0087.jpeg

Iron Bisglysinate is what i use. Easy on GI tract and good absorption. Heme Iron polypetide is another very good one but is a good bit pricier. Vitamin C helps with absorption as well

How’s your hemoglobin and hematocrit ?

Were you donating blood recently?

Men typically shouldn’t have iron deficiency

It's actually fairly common with diet (lack of red meat and such) and medications blocking or limiting absorption.
With Vitamin C ? Or no. ? Thanks!
If your diet lacks it, yes. You can use something like Chronometer to see how much you are getting in with your current nutrition.

I eat a lot of red meat and chicken., collards .

Had Cologuard not long ago, it should have picked that up , right ?
Technically yes

But stool studies are a snapshot of what was passing through the stool that one day

You might be loosing blood intermittently

What was your hemoglobin w those iron levels ?

Normal hemoglobin...What about your ferritin last blood draw? Does this fit a pattern or is it new?
Had a test in May, it was 16, but I just got back from the mountains the day before and it always runs higher for a week or so after coming down from the higher elevations

It’s pretty much what it is from Quest, I’ve seen it higher and lower.
I tend to agree with @Conmike41 it could be a GI tract bleed. Or you could have celiac disease, are you allergic to gluten? Celiac can fuck with the lower GI tract where iron is absorbed. In the duodenem i believe. Or maybe MK is right and its the meds? I never heard of them affecting iron absorption to this extreme but my experience is limited especially compared to him.

At this point I’m going to see what the doc comes back with, but I appreciate all the opinions! No allergies to anything, that I know of.
