Important Reminder: Unpacking Video Evidence is Required with Claims of Missing and/or Broken Items.

Post-sale support is carried out according to these terms to which the customer agreed.

Basicstero has recently been receiving more claims of missing items than usual. Basicstero strives to take care of customers and, like with any business, sometimes packing mistakes may happen or someone in the postal-service may have opened packs and stolen items etc. In such cases of missing items, Basicstero offers replacements and re-ship for free.
However, such instances are usually very rare.
Unfortunately, there are also cases of scammers that try to fake that items are missing in an attempt to scam to get source's to send some more for free.
Basicstero wants to correct any mistakes and take care of customers, but must take steps to make sure such claims are genuine.

The customer MUST provide video evidence of opening and unpacking with any claim of missing or damaged items.
The video should clearly show the front side of the package, address, name.
Video or pictures with already opened packages are not accepted!
Without unpacking video proof, we cannot solve the problem in your favor.

Please take the little bit of extra time to film the unpacking of your pack so that there is evidence of the condition and contents in case there is any issue and/or claim that may require replacement or re-ship of products. Please understand such evidence is needed or else anyone can simply claim there are missing items, even if there is not any genuine problem, and then request replacements as a scam to get free extras.

Thank you for this awesome reminder! It’s extremely important for all of our customers to do this!

Reminder: Always Film an Unpacking Video

An unpacking video (opening the package for the first time to show the contents exactly how they were received) is required if post-sale support is needed to resolve issues such as damaged or missing items.
Please see my advice below about how to make a good unpacking video.

In the unfortunate event that the postal system did something that damaged the contents during shipping, or in the rare event that the warehouse staff may have made a mistake such as sending a package with a missing or wrong product, an unpacking video is required for customer support to help resolve the issue.

Please understand that customer support staff are required to review the unpacking video in accordance with points #10 and #11 in the "Our Terms" page on the Basicstero site at the link below.

This it is a rule for the customer support job, which the customer support team does not have the authority to change (they are people at work and have to follow the rules at their job or they may face consequences such as being fired, just like the rest of us when we are at work).

Also, keep in mind, that the terms on the order confirmation page clearly state this and a customer has to agree to these terms to even place an order (please see the screenshot included below).

Please see this screenshot of the order confirmation page and terms:

Post-sale support is carried out according to the terms to which you agreed.
If management questions things, the customer support team has to be able to show management the evidence that justifies why they entered a reship request for the warehouse.

In my experience, if the package was already opened they will not be able to help.
Customer support staff cannot make judgment calls about if they think you're scamming or not; they are just required to follow the rules and policies at their job.
So, they simply review the unpacking video to make sure it shows everything the way it is required and meets the criteria to allow them to enter a reship request in the system.
If all the criteria are met, they can enter a request for the manager to approve so the warehouse will get work orders to send a reship.
If the criteria are not met, they cannot enter the request.

To be clear, this policy is not any accusation towards a specific individual such as yourself, or a matter or trusting you or not; it's noting personal about you at all in any way, not negative or positive judgement about you.
It is a general policy customer support must follow for everyone.
It a policy that is clearly stated and the customer must agree to it to place an order, and it's a rule for the customer support staff at their job, not something they decided to make-up (just like how most of us have rules for our positions and places of employment).

Here are some tips and advice to help make a good unpacking video in case it is ever needed:
• Start filming before you begin to open the package and show the condition of the exterior condition.
• Clearly show that the package was not opened yet.
• Clearly show the shipping label with all the information, such as the tracking number, that can be used to verify that it is the package for the specific order in question.
• Keep everything visible on the video; if the package or some products move off the video and are not visible (even for a brief moment), customer support may not be able to resolve the situation (the purpose of the video is to show the exact situation as it arrived).
• Clearly show the package being opened for the first time and the removal of the contents.
• When all contents have been removed, clearly show the package is empty to verify that all the contents are accounted for.
• Clearly show the contents so they can easily be identified and counted.
• Make sure all of this, every step and every items, is in the video and nothing happens that does not show on the video.

With an unpacking video such as this, customer support staff is in a much better position to be able to help resolve any issue.

Also, make sure to read and understand the information and terms on Basicstero site's TERMS page, FAQ page, and the order Confirmation Page when your enter an order.

FAQ page can be found at:

The ORDER CONFIRMATION page is displayed at the end of the check-out process and requires a customer to agree with the terms listed there to enter an order.
