Had to admit my daughter

That’s rough! Hang in there. Hopefully she will get clean and avoid any “friends” who influence her to do that stuff. I had to end friendships with anyone who did hard drugs to stay clean. It made a huge difference getting rid of those people.
 
Sorry you're going through this brother. Good on you for stepping up for your grandson while also making sure you help your daughter.

This hits home because I had an 8mg per day addiction on top of as much cocaine as I could get my hands on. The withdrawal is hell and needs to be closely monitored by medical professionals as the withdrawals can be fatal.

On a positive note at least you caught the problem early. The dependence is more than likely fixable without serious health outcomes. I will pray for you and your daughter.

The problem is bars are cheap. 3-4$ a bar and a lot are being cut with fent. Stay strong brother

Thank you for that. Addiction runs in the family. I have been in 12 rehabs since I was 16. Finally in 2006 I spent a year at a wonderful Christian rehab. Actually worked there for another year as a counselor. Best year of my life.
 
Everytime I've been thru rehab was specifically for Xanax.
One hell of a drug.

I just know from having epilepsy and being prescribed Xanax many times. Seizures are very possible as she comes down and even some time after. Not trying to overstep but wouldn’t be a bad idea to google what to do for people during a seizure. It might save her life. Also watch her while she off. If she takes just one it again can triggers seizures. Good luck brother. You’re a good man for taking care of your grandson. Much respect.
 
Good thing shes detoxing in treatment. Much safer. Sorry you're going through this. She'll look back on this and be grateful for parents that stayed in her corner.
 
My little brother in on his 2nd stay for percs. it's a tough detox and easy relapse.
 
It’s not cheap but it will almost get rid of any drug and alcohol addiction.

For me.xanax was a mandatory 7 day detox. So she's just likely got one of the main hard parts out of the way. Which is a very big feat.

This is a great hurdle. Body isn't dependent as it once was. Now it's a battle of the mind and emotion. For me. Ugh my.brain would.find every discomfort to trick me.into having a reason to need something. After a few weeks tho. I realized. Xanax was that best friend.that turned on me and tried to ruin my life. And I started to want my distance.

I'm here in your family's corner rooting for u guys.

It’s not bad enough some of these kids are getting addicted to Xanax and pain pills because of Doctors overprescribing. Now they have to be super careful what they buy on the street. I can’t remember the % off hand but I read something the other day that said that some crazy high percentage of all counterfeit pills are now fentanyl instead.
Heck even that JuiceDaddy scumbag was selling fake Xanax that was Bromazolam instead.
I wouldn’t take anything anymore if it wasn’t straight from a legit pharmacy in the US.

I have some xans in my dresser. I had a prescription for 30 in Sept. I've got 27 left. Idk they don't appeal to me . Why would I wanna be tired all day

All too often stress can absolutely overwhelm somebody to the point that they don't care where the relief comes from as long as it comes. It's a literal hell of a place to be. I hope you never know it.

I’ve been prescribed Xanax and Ativan occasionally for epilepsy and a few times for mental stuff. They do calm me down a lot so there definitely is a purpose for them. I never took enough to get high though. Probably like most other drugs. You start to abuse them and it takes you down a road you probably didn’t expect or want to go.

I’ve seen a few people detox from Xanax and it looks like pure hell. You can’t tell me they expected that when they first started taking them. Anyone who can get through the withdrawals and can stay off them deserves mad props imo.

Good thing to be very mindful of these drugs and sticking with the dosage as prescribed. When I had surgery on my Achilles I had Oxycontin prescribed and I was very wary of this drug and thankfully never taken any of the pills as didn't have as much pain as expected which was a great thing. I in fact had the pills destroyed recently now that I'm up and about again.

Xanax is another adventure for me LOL. Had taken that as well some years back...
