Hey, I jumped on the Reta train too when it came out, not for weight loss but for the metabolic shift in glucose levels but that shit hit me so hard on the 1st shot (2mg) that I skipped 3 meals and couldn't finish my scrambled eggs for supper ( This is a treat for me.. I love eggs!) And I could only eat half. All valid points thank you. Not a fad, was always in shape until 38 and then had 1-2 surgery's a year for 3 years in a row. No excuses. Got back on the train. I was hoping Reta would help peel me down more but only shitty side effects.
my experience with GLP-1 was pretty much the same. I tried pharma grade dulaglutide a couple years ago. I did two shots and knew it wasn't for me, does not agree with my digestion. was like a damn roadblock. even after only those two doses it took a month before my gut was moving normally. These drugs just are not a good fit for everyone.Hey, I jumped on the Reta train too when it came out, not for weight loss but for the metabolic shift in glucose levels but that shit hit me so hard on the 1st shot (2mg) that I skipped 3 meals and couldn't finish my scrambled eggs for supper ( This is a treat for me.. I felt like shit all day after the shot, heart rate increased a little and my normal shit time had long passed.
Woke up the next morning with major stomach distention and full blown
constipation...didn't want to eat, or even drink. The distention and not being able to shit pissed me off so bad I went and got some MOM and double dosed it..... Finally after 2 hrs I shit out a fuckin baby ox. My asshole had never been stretched that badly before.
Good fuckin' thing I have a good septic and a good plunger, I thought for sure I was going to have to call someone to snake out the pipes.
Fuck Reta.......
Again if your obese and cant stop eating..... by all means I wont try to steer you clear of GLP-1's.. If your able bodied, there's no excuses.
Same damn thing for me..... I dropped my dose to .5 the 2nd week but I couldn't take it any longer.... took just about a full month to get my gut right again.my experience with GLP-1 was pretty much the same. Yeah, it’s something how it varies from one person to another how people react to it. I’ve gone as high as 6 mg and haven’t had those kind of reactions and that’s from three different vendors here, all reacting same with me. Only time I had a problem was when I got impatient and went up to fast.Hey, I jumped on the Reta train too when it came out, not for weight loss but for the metabolic shift in glucose levels but that shit hit me so hard on the 1st shot (2mg) that I skipped 3 meals and couldn't finish my scrambled eggs for supper ( This is a treat for me.. Agree, profits and greed def play a huge role in some unnecessary pushing of higher doses.I guess I could clarify further. The “R&D” arm of big pharma has come out with some amazing products. No question. My issue is with the “sales and marketing” arm of big pharma.
Take Reta for example. Studies showing 1mg throughout a 48 week study having moderate, very acceptable, weight loss. 2mg showed more, 4mg even more, 8, and 12mg greater still. The fat loss increases, but not at the same rate as the increase in dosage. It doesn’t double, triple etc as the dose does. Why push 12, when 1 will work? $$$$$$$ that’s the side “R&D” has no say over. I get the science, but I’m not taking suggestions on dosing from the advertisers whose sole job is to maximize profits.

I also would say for those who haven't tried metformin yet, go with extended release or you may just find yourself shitting down your leg during your business presentation.I would also come out and say this.... I hate Metformin with a fuckin passion, but would rather people run it for glucose control over GLP-1's

How does this help adhd? Being clean and sober unfortunately means I cannot/will not take any of the "effective" adhd meds. Id love another solution thats not amphetamine based. My experience coming off reta is different - it seems to have permanently dampened my appetite and food noise. If my natural appetite is otherwise a 10, after reta it’s a 6. It’s still there, it’s just not what it used to be. That dopamine drive has been turned down, which for me is a good thing.
Separate from that, I have AuDHD and when I’m on reta, all my ADHD symptoms are either gone or turned down to a level where it’s not an issue. It’s worked better than any medication. Tirzepatide works for it too, but reta works better.
Did you lose a lot of body fat on Reta/diet? Significant bf reduction should have a resetting effect on leptin signaling to the brain, separate from Reta/glps.My experience coming off reta is different - it seems to have permanently dampened my appetite and food noise. If you can make things easier for yourself, why not utilise it?I've mostly moved away from using it with bodybuilders for reasons I've already posted. Food noise? You are a f'ing bodybuilder or physique athlete.![]()
100% I have no problem people using anything. My point is the negatives outweigh the positives in certain aspects which I personally choose not to use unless necessary. If you can make things easier for yourself, why not utilise it?
For me it has been a miracle really in how it has completely turned off my cravings. When I came to this forum a few months ago you questioned my choices regarding cheat days (valid) and I can say for a fact that I would struggle very much without using retatrutide. I've prepped in the past without it but why put myself through the misery when it can be so helpful. I will always recommend it.
General comment, not to someone specific. GLPs do not change your mind, your body or build healthy habits for you. When GLP clears from your body, you will go back to your old habits cause your chemistry is back to before GLP. Unless you can purchase will power you will gain weight back, this is not interpretation but facts - ask me how I knowSo when you come off GLP's will you start smoking stogies again?
Or is it GLP-1's 4 LIFE!
