I have not had alcohol in about 2 decades, I was never a drunk I just decided to not drink anymore so I didn't. I've been trying some of the 0% beers lately and they're pretty good. My favorite is the Sam Adams Just the Haze. Any suggestions of others?

Their Run Wild IPA is ok. Most Non-alcoholic beers are better than they used to be. Corona Non-alcoholic isn’t bad either.

curious as to what the point is with non alcoholic beer?

An ice cold beer after a hard days labor is delicious but it isn’t the taste that makes people drink 6 of them in a row.

I’ve often wondered why anyone would choose to drink NA beer. Why not just drink chocolate milk or ice tea?

I try to avoid booze because I can easily fall back into that 6-pack plus a night phase and that’s a lot of calories.

Just curious what the thought process is…. Is it kind of like smokers trying to break the hand to mouth habit while detoxing from the nicotine? As a chewing tobacco user who is trying to kick the habit I’m using nicotine gum alot lately.

Does NA beer have alcohol in it? I though I remember seeing that NA beer still has a tiny amount of alcohol but you’d get sick from consumption trying to catch a buzz on it.

I have a comprised liver and don’t drink alcohol but I do like a beer occasionally. Todays NA beer is much better than it used to be and there’s a couple reasons I’ll drink one or two. Mostly when you stop drinking alcohol you find yourself in situations where alcohol is being served and it’s a social participation. Having a Coke gets old after a while and NA beer is just another beverage choice. Go out for tacos? Sure I’ll have a NA Corona with them. Get a pizza? Sure I’ll have a Stella NA. BBQ some burgers? Sure I’ll have a Sam Adams NA.
I will admit, I never have more than 1or2. Yes, there’s no alcohol and it does seem meaningless to down 5/6. But ask yourself. If you’re just drinking beer to get buzzed, aren’t there some better tasting alternatives?

I definitely understand the social aspect.

As far as better tasting alternatives…. Yes and no. I abstain from the hard stuff because….well let’s just say it doesn’t like me as much as I like it. Lol ….. and there’s is very few better tasting things than an ice cold, domestic or otherwise, beer after a long hard day. I’ve acquired the tastebuds, I guess.

I’m sorry that your liver is fucked. This is another reason why I’ve really cut down on the booze. That and the hangovers are just intolerable at this point. I don’t wanna live forever but I do wanna spoil my grandkids someday.
 
I used to drink a lot and thought nothing of it until I got sick. The liver will heal to a point and honestly it’s the portal vein hypertension (you can google that) affecting my spleen that’s more worrisome from a health standpoint.
I guess the NA beer that I occasionally have is more nostalgic than anything. I quit drinking with no withdrawals physically but psychologically the idea of a beer still sounds good sometimes. I have a 6 pack of Modelos in the fridge but they’re for company, I never have one.
And yeah, definitely don’t miss the hangover 😵‍💫

No doubt, guess I'm back to grocery store today...seriously I'm a everyday shopper,lol,sux not having much storage space,and 3 other mouths to feed,add me in and that 6 stomachs to fill up
 
A NA beer to me is just a tease 😅

Granted I was never a big drinker thank God. Not to say I didn't have issues with other substances...
 
stopped drinking at 22 and started smoking mary jane. Best switch i ever made.

beer is just piss to me whether it alcohol or not haha

I love good beer and mezcal. But I hate the buzz. I would drink 6+ good pints if there was no buzz involved. I could share a bottle of mezcal with mi amigos except I hate the buzz. I’d probably even smoke the occasional joint…if it weren’t for the buzz.
I don’t need nor want to be altered in any way.
If my local breweries had their quality beer in a non-alcoholic form, I would probably be drinking now. But I’m off the drink. No interest in it whatsoever. The health implications aren’t worth it to me.

I will drink a bottle of wine here and there though.

Ever since I quit drinking, iced tea with lemon is my go to when I’m not drinking water. It’s a lot more refreshing than beer or booze.

Beer is yummy but I gave up alcohol a long time ago. Some of the n/a beers say 0.5% but I'm willing to compromise that much, even vanilla extract has alcohol.
 
the NA beers are all pretty good these days, the guiness tastes like a flat guiness, stella tastes like a legit beer, I like the hop waters, because I dont like the taste I will drink less of them
 
give me half a tumbler of a top shelf tequila or Kentucky bourbon.

NA beer, I would never drink even if it was free.
